CSE '14

Honors Degree in Computer Science and Engineering is a leading Washington Accord course offered by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa. This is part of the Faculty of Engineering and is one of the leading courses of choice for the students entering the Faculty after the first semester. Students pursuing this course will have the opportunity to qualify as a Chartered Computer Engineer.

BSc Engineering (Hons) Specialized in Computer Science and Engineering can be studied in four disciplines available through the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Students entering the department will have the opportunity to choose one of these at their choice.

🔸Computer Science and Engineering🔸
A course that provides a thorough knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of computer science. This is currently the only engineering degree course in Sri Lanka that combines both Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

🔸Integrated Computer Engineering🔸
It provides an in-depth study of robotics, computer hardware, integrated circuits, Internet of Things (IoT), and Smart Systems.

🔸Cyber Security Engineering🔸

It provides in-depth study of system security, network security, data and information security protection, cryptography, computer crime prevention and cyber attack prevention.

🔸Data Science and Engineering🔸
Data science is one of the fastest growing fields today. This course provides a wealth of knowledge in areas such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Intelligent Systems Engineering. Its specialty is the ability to lead projects to create data and artificial intelligence systems (AI systems) using engineering knowledge.

Within the first two academic years, subjects, basic theories and practical knowledge of these four disciplines are available and in the last two years, in-depth study can be done in one of the selected areas.

There are many job opportunities available for engineering graduates who successfully complete their degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The following are some of the most popular jobs today.

Another specialty of this department is the abundance of special opportunities to pursue research. Students who wish to pursue postgraduate (MSc / MEng) and PhD (PhD) degrees in foreign universities and to pursue a career in research can enter this department and make their dreams come true.

පරිගණක විද්‍යා සහ ඉංජිනේරු ගෞරව උපාධි පාඨමාලාව, මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලීය ඉංජිනේරු පීඨය මගින් ලබා දෙන ගෝලීයව පිළිගත් (Washington Accord) ප්‍රමුඛ පාඨමාලාවකි. මෙය ඉංජිනේරු පීඨයට අයත් අනුකොටසක් වන අතර පීඨයට ඇතුල් වන සිසුන්ට පළමු අධ්‍යන වාරයෙන් (1st Semester) පසු තෝරාගත හැකි පාඨමාලා අතරින් බහුතර සිසුන්ගේ අවධානය දිනාගත් ප්‍රමුඛ පෙළේ පාඨමාලාවකි. මෙම පාඨමාලාව හදාරන සිසුන්ට වරලත් පරිගණක ඉංජිනේරුවකු (Chartered Engineer) ලෙස සුදුසුකම් ලබා ගැනීමේ අවස්ථාව හිමි වේ.

පරිගණක විද්‍යා සහ ඉංජිනේරු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව තුළින් ලබාගත හැකි ප්‍රධාන උපාධිය (BSc Engineering (Hons) Specialized in Computer Science and Engineering) විෂය ක්ෂේත්‍ර හතරක් ඔස්සේ හැදෑරිය හැක. දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ඇතුලත් වන සිසුන්ට තම අභිමතය පරිදි මෙයින් එකක් තෝරාගැනීමේ අවස්ථාව ලැබේ.

පරිගණක විද්‍යාවේ සිද්ධාන්ත සහ ප්‍රායෝගික අංශය පිළිබඳ හසල දැනුමක් ලබා දෙන පාඨමාලාවකි. මෙය දැනට ලංකාවේ ඇති පරිගණක විද්‍යාව (Computer Science) හා පරිගණක ඉංජිනේරු (Computer Engineering) යන දෙඅංශයම එක්වූ එකම ඉංජිනේරු උපාධි පාඨමාලාව වේ.

🔸Integrated Computer Engineering🔸
රොබෝ තාක්ෂණය, පරිගණක දෘඪාංග, සංගෘහිත පරිපථ, Internet of Things (IoT), සුහුරු පද්ධති (Smart Systems) වැනි අංශ ගැඹුරින් හැදෑරීමේ අවස්ථාව මෙය තුළින් ලැබේ.

පද්දති ආරක්ෂණය, ජාල ආරක්ෂණය, දත්ත හා තොරතුරු ආරක්ෂණය හා රැකවරණය, Cryptography, පරිගණක අපරාධ වැලැක්වීම හා සයිබර් ප්‍රහාර වැලැක්වීම වැනි අංශ ගැඹුරින් හැදෑරීමේ අවස්ථාව මෙ​ය තුළින් ලැබේ.

දත්ත විද්‍යාව වර්තමානයේ ඉතා වේගයෙන් ජනප්‍රිය වන ක්ෂෙත්‍රයකි. මෙම පාඨමාලාව හැදෑරීම තුළින් දත්ත විද්‍යාව, කෘතිම බුද්ධිය (AI), Machine Learning, බුද්ධිමය පද්දති ඉංජිනේරු (Intelligent Systems Engineering) වැනි අංශ පිළිබඳ පුළුල් දැනුම් සම්භාරයක් ලබාගත හැක. මෙහි ඇති විශේෂතාවනම් ඉංජිනේරුමය දැනුම යොදා ගනිමින් දත්ත හා කෘතීම බුද්ධිමය පද්දති (AI Systems) නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ ව්‍යපෘති වලට නායකත්වය ලබාදීමේ විශේෂ නිපුණතාවයයි.

පළමු අධ්‍යන වර්ෂ දෙක ඇතුළත මෙම අංශ හතරට අයත් විශයන්, මුලික සිද්දාන්ත හා ප්‍රායෝගික දැනුම ලබා ගත හැකි අතර අවසන් වසර 2 තුලදී තෝරාගත් එක් ක්ෂේත්‍රයක් ඔස්සේ ගැඹුරු ලෙස අද්‍යනය කල හැක.

පරිගණක විද්‍යා සහ ඉංජිනේරු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවෙන් තම උපාධිය සාර්ථක ලෙස අවසන් කරන ඉංජිනේරු උපාධිධාරින්හට යොමු විය හැකි රැකියා අවස්ථා බොහොමයකි. ඉන් වර්තමානයේ වඩාත් ජනප්‍රිය රැකියා කිහිපයක් පහත දැක්වේ.

පර්යේෂණ අංශයට (research) යොමු වීමට ඇති විශේෂ අවස්ථා බහුල වීමද ⁣මෙම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ඇති වි⁣ශේෂත්වයකි. විදේශ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලවල පශ්චාද් (MSc / MEng) හා ආචාර්ය උපාධි (PhD) වැඩිදුර අධ්‍යාපනය හැදෑරීමට ද, පර්යේෂණ අංශයේ රැකියාව නියැලීමට ද කැමති සිසුන්ට මෙම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ඇතුළත් වී එම සිහින සැබෑ කර ගත හැක.

Computer Science and Engineering (BSc Eng Hons) பட்டமானது மொறட்டுவ பல்கலைக்கழத்தின் பொறியியல் பீடத்தினால் வழங்கப்படும் முன்னனி Washington Accord Course ஆகும். இது பொறியியல் பீடத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாகும். மேலும் முதலாம் Semester இனை கடந்து வரும் மாணவர்களுக்கு ஒரு சிறந்த தேர்வாகும். இந்த தெரிவினை தெரிவு செய்யும் மாணவர்களுக்கு Charted Engineer ஆக தகுதி பெற வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கும்.

Computer Science and Engineering ஆனது நான்கு பிரிவுகளின் கீழ் கற்க முடியும். முதலாம் Semester இனை கடந்து Computer Science and Engineering க்கு தெரிவாகும் மாணவர்கள்
அவர்களின் விருப்பத்திற்கமைய கீழ்வருவனவற்றில் ஒன்றை தெரிவு செய்யலாம்.

🔸 Computer Science and Engineering

இந்த பாடநெறியானது Computer Science பற்றிய முழுமையான Theory மற்றும் செய்முறை விளக்கங்களினை அளிக்கின்றது. தற்போது இலங்கையில் Computer Science மற்றும் கணினி பொறியியல்(Computer Engineering) இரண்டையும் இணைக்கும் ஒரே பொறியியல் பட்டபடிப்பாக திகழ்கிறது.

🔸 Integrated Computer Engineering

இது Robotics, கணினி வன்பொருள் (Computer Hardware ), Integrated Circuits, IOT
மற்றும் Smart Systems பற்றிய ஆழமான கற்கையினை வழங்குகிறது.

இது குறியாக்கவியல்(cryptography), கணினி குற்றத்தடுப்பு(computer crime prevention),

Data Science என்பது இன்று வேகமாக வளர்ந்து வரும் துறைகளில் ஒன்றாகும்.
இந்த பாடநெறியானது Data Science , Artificial Intelligence ( செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு),
Machine Learning மற்றும் Intelligent System (நுண்ணறிவு அமைப்புகள்) பற்றிய போதிய
அறிவினை வழங்குகிறது. இக்கற்கைநெறியை கற்பதன் மூலம் மாணவர்களிற்கு Data
மற்றும் செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு (AI Systems) அமைப்புகளை உருவாக்கும் மற்றும்
வழிநடத்தும் திறன் விருத்தியடையும்.

முதல் இரண்டு கல்வி ஆண்டுகளில் இந்த நான்கு பிரிவுகளில் அடிப்படை கோட்பாடுகள்(Theories)
மற்றும் நடைமுறை (Practical Knowledge) கற்பிக்கப்படுகிறது. இறுதி இரண்டு
ஆண்டுகளிலும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு பிரிவின் ஆழமான கற்கையினை வழங்குகிறது.

Computer Science and Engineering துறையில் பட்டபடிப்பை முடிக்கும்பொறியியல்
பட்டதாரிகளிற்கு பல வேலைவாய்ப்புக்கள் உள்ளன. பின்வருவன இன்று
பெரிதும் பல மாணவர்களினால் விரும்பப்படும் தொழில் வாய்ப்புக்கள்.

Life is a series of beginnings, not endings. Just as finishing the CSE '14 family time and going out of the family nest will be a fresh start for every family member to follow their future plans and achieve life goals. Sadly yes there will
not be anymore family gatherings around department floor but allowing your good old memories to keep alive will always help you to remind that you were such an amazing and unforgettable living being in this CSE '14 family.

As the CSE '15 batch enters the industry as interns, we thought the best parting gift would be to share a few words of advice based on our own internship experiences. In that spirit, we held an information session about the internship experience in each company for the youngsters going to the respective companies, with the help of those who interned there previously.
