Sri Lanka’s cultural landscape marked a historic milestone with the inauguration of the Ehelepola Walawwa Wax Museum on July 17, 2025, which was ceremonially opened to the Sri Lankan public by His Excellency, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. This visionary project, headed by the lay custodian Diyawadana Nilame of Sri Dalada Maligawa, Mr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara, brings the grandeur of the Kandyan Kingdom to life through meticulously crafted wax figures, adorned in historically accurate and aesthetically refined costumes. The University of Moratuwa made a landmark contribution to this national endeavour, playing a key role in Sri Lanka’s first wax museum.

විලාසිතා නිර්මාණය හා නිෂ්පාදන ප්‍රවර්ධනය පිළිබඳව හසල දැනුමක් හා පලපුරුද්දක් සහිත ආචාර්ය අයේෂා වික්‍රමසිංහ මහත්මිය ජාතික ශිල්ප සභාවේ සභාපතිනිය ලෙස පත්කර තිබෙයි.

මෙම වගකීම භාරගත් ජාතික ශිල්ප සභාවේ නව සභාපතිනිය වන ආචාර්ය අයේෂා වික්‍රමසිංහ මහත්මිය මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ විලාසිතා නිර්මාණය හා නිෂ්පාදන සංවර්ධනය පිළිබඳව ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්යවරියක් ලෙස 2006 වසරේ සිට කටයුතු කරන අතර ලොව ප්‍රමුඛ පෙළේ සන්නාම ප්‍රවර්ධනය සහ නිර්මාණය සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකාව, එක්සත් රාජධානිය හා ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදය යන රටවල වෘත්තීමය අත්දැකීම් රැසක් ඇති අයෙකි.

ගාල්ල සවුත්ලන්ඩ් විද්‍යාලයේ දීප්තිමත් ආදි ශිෂ්‍යාවක වන ඇය මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයෙන් Fashion Design and Product Development පිළිබඳව ප්‍රථම පන්තියේ ගෞරව උපාධියක් හිමිකරගෙන තිබෙන අතර එක්සත් රාජධානියේ University of the Arts, London හිදී තම පශ්ශාත් උපාධියද ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සෞන්දර්ය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයෙන් (University of the Visual and Performing Arts) ආචාර්ය උපාධියද ලබාගෙන ඇත. විලාසිතා නිර්මාණකරණය පිළිබඳව දෙස් විදෙස් සම්මාන රැසකින්ද පිදූම් ලබා ඇති ආචාර්ය වික්‍රමසිංහ මහත්මිය විලාසිතා නිර්මාණය පිළිබඳව ජාතික හා අන්තර්ජාතික පර්යේෂණ පත්‍රිකා රැසක් එළිදක්වා තිබෙයි.
