The Quiet Haven

The Quiet Haven A quiet space for a busy mind. Helping you slow down, let go, and find peace within.

09/08/2026

You believe everything your mind tells you. Every fear. Every doubt. Every worry.

Your mind says: "You are not good enough." You believe it.
Your mind says: "You will fail." You believe it.

A fox sees a scarecrow in a field. It looks like a person. The fox freezes. It runs away.

The next day, the fox watches. It realizes: the scarecrow never moves. It never speaks. It is just a stick with clothes.

The fox was not afraid of the scarecrow. It was afraid of what it thought the scarecrow was.

Your mind is the scarecrow. It creates illusions. It creates fear. It creates doubt.

But when you look closely, you see: it is not real. It only has power if you believe it.

Try the Fox's Awareness Practice:

1. Recognize the scarecrow.
2. Step closer.
3. See it clearly.
4. Let it be.

What "scarecrow" is your mind showing you today? πŸ¦ŠπŸ‘»

Your Mind and You Are Not One – A Challenge

🎯 The Problem

You think you are your thoughts. You believe every voice in your head is you. You follow your mind blindly, convinced it knows what is best.

But here is a question:

Do you agree with me when I say: Your mind and you are not one?

Wait. Before you answer, let me prove it to you.

πŸ”” The Story

You have an exam tomorrow. You need to wake up at 4 AM to study. You set your alarm.

4 AM. The alarm rings.

You want to wake up. You know you should wake up. But your mind whispers: "Just 15 more minutes. Sleep a little longer. You deserve it."

You listen. You stay in bed.

Now imagine this:

You are lying in bed. Suddenly, you feel something slither across your leg. You look down. A snake.

Do you wait even one second? No. You jump up instantly. You are wide awake. No negotiation. No laziness. No "just 15 more minutes."

🧘 The Observation

What changed?

The alarm rang. Your mind said: "Sleep more." You listened.

A snake appeared. Your mind said: "Danger! Move!" You moved instantly.

Your thoughts are not you. They are reactions. They are generated by conditions a sound, a fear, a memory. They are not your choice. They are not your identity.

If your thoughts were truly yours, you would be able to control them completely. But you cannot. They come and go like visitors. Some are helpful. Some are lazy. Some are fearful. But none of them are you.

πŸ’‘ The Practice

The Observer Practice

This practice will help you separate you from your mind.

Step 1: Notice the Thought

Β· Catch a thought as it arises.
Β· Say to yourself: "I notice a thought."

Step 2: Name It

Β· Give it a name. "Fear." "Laziness." "Worry." "Judgment."

Step 3: Don't Follow It

Β· Do not act on it. Do not fight it. Just watch it.

Step 4: Ask Yourself

Β· "Who is watching this thought?" You are. The watcher is not the thought.

Step 5: Let It Go

Β· Imagine the thought floating away like a cloud. You are still here. The cloud is gone.

🧘 Why This Works

You are not your thoughts. You are the one who notices them.

The alarm clock thought came from tiredness. The snake thought came from fear. Neither came from your true selfβ€”they came from conditions.

When you see this clearly, you stop being a slave to your thoughts. You stop believing every lazy, fearful, or anxious voice in your head. You become free. You become the observer.

You worry. All the time. About the future. Your health. Your money. Your family. Your relationships.

You replay conversations. You imagine worst-case scenarios. You lose sleep over things that haven't even happened.

A rock sits in a river. The water flows around it. The rock doesn't move. The river keeps flowing.

Your worry is the rock. You are the river. You don't need to move the rock. You just need to keep flowing.

Try the River's Flow Practice:
1. Recognize your rock.
2. Place it in the river.
3. Breathe and flow.
4. Let it go.
5. Return to the present.

The river flows around the rock. You can flow around your worry.

What worry is sitting like a rock in your mind? 🌊πŸͺ¨

Your mind is loud. Thoughts racing. Overthinking. Overanalyzing. Overwhelmed. You start ten things and finish none. You wake up tired and go to bed exhausted.

But you are not broken. You just need to find your stillness again.

An owl sits in a tree during a storm. The wind howls. Rain pounds. Branches break. The owl stays still. It watches. It waits. It does not react.

The storm passes. The owl is still there. Unshaken. Untouched.

You can be the owl. No matter how loud the noise, you can find stillness.

Try the Owl's Stillness Practice:
1. Recognize the noise.
2. Find one still point.
3. Breathe slowly.
4. Observe, do not react.
5. Return.

Let the noise pass. You remain.

πŸ¦‹ The Butterfly and the Flower – Mind Practice of Letting Go

You cling to things. People. Results. Expectations. Plans.

You hold on so tightly that your hands hurt. You replay conversations in your head. You worry about the future. You regret the past.

You are holding onto a flower that has already wilted. But you refuse to let go.

πŸ¦‹

A butterfly lands on a flower. It drinks the nectar. It stays for a moment. Then it flies away. It does not cling to the flower. It does not ask the flower to stay beautiful forever. It knows: the flower will fade. The season will change. The butterfly will find another flower.

The butterfly does not grieve the flower. It is grateful for the nectar. Then it moves on.

πŸ’‘ The Practice

Today, when you feel yourself clinging, do this

1. NOTICE
Ask yourself: "What am I holding onto that I need to let go?"

2. THANK
Say thank you to that thing. For the lesson. For the experience. For the joy it once gave.

3. RELEASE
Breathe out slowly. Imagine the thing floating away from you. Light. Free. Like a leaf on the wind.

4. TURN
Turn your attention to the next flower. The next moment. The next breath.

---

🧘 Why This Works

The butterfly does not hold onto one flower. It knows there are many flowers. The beauty is not in the flower. It is in the butterfly's ability to find sweetness everywhere.

Let go of the wilted flower. Find the next one.

The Heron and the Storm – Mind Practice of Stillness in Chaos

πŸŒͺ️ The Problem

Life is a storm. Emails pile up. People demand your time. Your mind races with worry. You feel like you are being pulled in a hundred directions. You react. You rush. You try to fix everything at once. And the storm gets louder.

🐦 The Story

A heron stands in a river during a rainstorm. The water rushes fast around its legs. The wind bends the trees. Rain pounds the surface. Thunder shakes the sky. The heron does not move. It does not fight the current. It does not panic. It simply stands still. And when a fish swims by, it catches it. Ease. Effortless.

The storm does not disturb the heron because the heron does not disturb itself.

πŸ’‘ The Practice

Today, when the storm of life surrounds you, do this:

1. STOP
Pause. Literally stop what you are doing. Even for 2 seconds.

2. BREATHE
Take one long, slow breath. Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth.

3. OBSERVE
Look at your mind. Notice the noise. Do not fix it. Do not push it away. Just watch it. Like the heron watches the fish.

4. CHOOSE
Ask yourself: "What is one thing I can do right now that actually matters?" Then do that one thing. With full attention.

🧘 Why This Works

The heron does not fight the storm. It stands still in it. The storm passes. The heron is still standing. You cannot stop the storm. You can stop reacting to it.

Try it today. Be the heron.

What storm are you standing still in today? 🐦🌧️

I have a friend who is trying to stop smoking ci******es. But today he is still smoking three or four ci******es a day.

Now his wife is pregnant. One day, he was smoking a cigarette and while walking with me, he said that he should stop this habit even now that he has a child. He told a very interesting story.

When I was a child, my father smoked a cigarette in front of me at a wedding. Even though I am 34 years old, it still bothers me.

So if I smoke in front of my child, how bad it would be for the child. Also, he used to say that if he saw someone smoking, he would get really angry.

When I heard this story, I really thought that it was a track.

Because my father smokes ci******es in front of me. That's why smoking a cigarette had become normal for me. That's why I was also used to smoking a cigarette. But my friend's father was used to smoking ci******es without being seen.

We'll see later about finding the right and wrong in this story.

After this story between us, my thoughts fell on a different track. I rode the bike the rest of the way with this thought.

Man, I started to feel that we create our own world with the things we see and associate with each other. We each live in a world that is different from each other.

Just think about it, you know that you are in the world, you have only many memories of the things you have seen, heard, tasted, and smelled since the day you were born.

How many other things are there in this world that have not sunk into you in one way or another?

Then the world in the minds of people who have experienced more than me is even bigger. The world of a person who has not experienced as much as I have is much smaller than the world I feel.

If someone grows up in a room from the day they are born and has not seen the outside world, then only that room knows that the world is in that person's mind, right?

The track jumped out so much that I was shocked.

If the size of my world is determined by the things I have experienced. I thought that whether I like it or not, whether I am happy or sad, is a world that is created only for me.

Think about it, I have seen my father smoke ci******es so much that it is normal in my life. Therefore, I do not feel that bad when I see someone else smoking a cigarette.

But my friend feels that it is the biggest mistake in the world. The only thing that makes one person feel normal is the track we are on.

Man, what I finally thought was that each of us has a unique track. We have a track that is our own, formed by what we know and what we don't like.

If we see someone who does something that is not on our track, we say that they have gone off track. On the other hand, they tell me that they have gone off track.

Man, then everyone in this world is off track in one way or another. Religious leaders have their own track with what they have heard, seen, and experienced.

But man, what I finally thought was that when we see someone who is going off track, we never thought that they might have just said it, but that they might have heard or felt something else and seen it.

Therefore, we should think twice about everything that anyone says.
On the other hand, I also think that there is one truth to everything in this world, even though we feel that this is how it is with what we know and know.

What do you think?

What's one small step you can take today?

You have a big goal. A mountain. It feels impossible.

An ant stands at the base of a mountain. It takes one step. Then another. Step after step.

The distance is not your enemy. Impatience is. Waiting is. Giving up is.

Big things are done one small step at a time.

Today, just take one step.
