LSEG Toastmasters club achieved the President Distinguished Status

The LSEG Toastmasters club has achieved the "President Distinguished Status" during the last toastmasters year which ended on 30 June 2022. Toastmasters International awards this status to any toastmasters club, if the club achieves at least 9 distinguish Club Programme (DCP) goals in the areas of Education, Membership Growth and Training.

LSEG Toastmasters club managed to achieve 10/10 goals during the last year making this achievement significant and the club managed to do so for the first time since its inception.

LSEG Technology Toastmasters club recently held the International Speech 'Contest via Zoom. Following toastmasters emerged as winners on that day.

First Place - Sanjaya Kulasuriya
Second Place - Arshad Zameer
Third Place - Sampath Ganege

Both Sanjaya and Arshad will participate in the next Area Contest of Area D5 on 20th March 2022

The International Speech Contest of LSEG Technology TM club will be held this Friday (11th March 2022) from 6.00 PM via Zoom.

Our VP of Education, Sanjaya Kulasuriya has been awarded the most coveted Triple crown award recently due to his exceptional performance in the Toastmasters pathway education program.

A proud achievement for the club during a year with the challenges of operating fully online

LSEG Toastmasters club concluded an online educational meeting today (22nd July 2020) with two distinguished guests, both from IESL Toastmasters Club.

TM Jagath Lal Wickramasekara conducted an entertaining educational session on doing humorous speeches, with many practical tips for the audience on how to deliver and incorporate humor into a speech. TM Aruna Ananda, area director for Area D5, was introduced to the attendees and spoke a few words to the audience.

We thank both guests for their attendance, and helping uplift this educational meeting!

The AGM of the LSEG Technology Toastmasters Club was held on the 18th of June 2020. This marked the end of a successful year for the club during which we had several achievements including
- Achieving 8 out of the 10 DCP points (the highest so far over the past years)
- Achieving the status of a ‘Select Distinguished Club’.
- Second runnner up at the division level Evaluation Speech Contest, first and second places at the Area level International Speech Contest, and second place at the table topics Area level contest.

Congratulations to our outgoing committee for 2019/2020 consisting of Bilaal Hassan, Piyal Lasantha De Fonseka,Tharindu Aravinda, Ahamed Ifham, Hasitha Jayawardane, Buddhika Pathirane , and Arshad Zameer for an excellent year
