Therefore, there is a pressing need to redesign how learning happens.

At its core, rethinking learning means shifting from teacher-centered instruction to student-centered exploration. Instead of students passively receiving information, they should actively engage in constructing knowledge through inquiry, discussion, and real-world problem-solving. Approaches such as Activity-Based Learning (ABL) and Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) exemplify this shift, as they encourage curiosity, creativity, and deeper conceptual understanding.

Another key aspect is moving beyond rote learning toward conceptual and applied understanding. Students should not only know what to do but also understand why they are doing it. This is particularly important in subjects like mathematics, where deep thinking, reasoning, and pattern recognition are far more valuable than memorizing formulas.

Technology also plays a transformative role in rethinking learning. Digital tools, artificial intelligence, and online platforms can personalize learning experiences, making education more accessible and adaptable to individual student needs. However, technology should not replace teachers; instead, it should empower them to become facilitators of learning rather than mere transmitters of knowledge.

Assessment methods must also evolve. Traditional exams often measure limited aspects of learning. A rethought system should include formative assessments, project-based evaluations, and opportunities for students to demonstrate critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.

Finally, rethinking learning requires a cultural shift among educators, parents, and policymakers. Education should be seen not just as preparation for exams, but as preparation for life. It should develop not only academic skills but also resilience, curiosity, and the ability to adapt.
