🏊‍♀️SWIMMING TRAINING – IMPORTANT NOTICE

📅 Effective from 10th August 2026

Dear Parents, Students, and School Staff & Old girls,

The Swimming Training Programme will be conducted according to the scheduled timetable from 10th August 2026 onwards.

👩‍🏫 SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR SCHOOL STAFF

Swimming training will be available for teachers and other members of the school staff on:

📅 Tuesdays • Thursdays • Fridays
🕒 After 3.00 p.m.

🏊‍♀️ EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR SQUAD TRAINING

All students participating in Squad Training are required to bring the necessary training equipment:

🏊 Swimming Fins
🏊 Kick Board
🏊 Pull Buoy / Pull Board
🖐️ Hand Paddles
💧 Water Bottle
🧢 Swimming Cap & Goggles
👕 Appropriate Swimming Attire

🍎 NUTRITION FOR TRAINING

To maintain good energy levels during training, students are encouraged to bring nutritious and easily digestible food.

✅ Recommended options:

🍌 Bananas & other fruits
🥛 Milk / Yogurt
🥚 Eggs
🥪 Light foods such as whole-grain bread
🥜 Nut-based nutritious snacks

❌ Please avoid very oily, fried, and heavy flour-based foods before training.

💧 A water bottle must be brought to every training session.

Within the grounds of St. Joseph’s Balika Vidyalaya, Kegalle, these proud and beloved words continue to echo — our school anthem, sung in the Sinhala language and cherished by generations of Josephians.

Today, we respectfully remember its immortal creator, our beloved Mrs. Charlotte Gunathilaka, who dedicated decades of her life (1967–1997) to enriching and uplifting the Sinhala language at our school.

Through her remarkable service, devotion, and commitment, she nurtured generations of talented daughters and gifted our nation with countless accomplished young women.

As we remember a teacher who left an everlasting mark on the history of St. Joseph’s Balika Vidyalaya, may she attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana.

May her noble memory live on forever. 🕊️💚
