Carrying the legacy of his province with pride, Dhanushka showcased his formidable skills on the chessboard, earning a well-deserved fifth place with an impressive score of 7/13. But his journey to this achievement goes far beyond this singular event.

Dhanushka previously held the title of Youth National Champion. His leadership qualities were evident as he captained both the Vidyartha College team and the Central Province team to victory in various competitions, including the prestigious National Sports Festival.

Now, Dhanushka's journey takes him even further, as he prepares to represent Sri Lanka on the international stage at the World Olympiad Tournament. It is a momentous occasion not only for him but for the entire chess family of Sri Lanka.

As the district association, we are immensely proud to support Dhanushka in his endeavors. His dedication, skill, and sportsmanship exemplify the values that we cherish in our chess community. We stand ready to provide him with all the assistance he needs as he competes against the world's best players.

Dhanushka is one of the few players to represent Sri Lanka at the World Olympiad Tournament. We congratulate him wholeheartedly on his achievements thus far and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

Note - For Merit Medals from 11th to 20th place, An age group must have 40 or more players. when there are less than 40 players in a section Only half of the players will be awarded merit medals.
This does not apply to superior-level performance trophies.
