මල්වතු මහාවිහාරීය ශ්‍රී සංඝරාජ මහපිරි⁣වෙණෙහි ගණිතය විෂය භාර ආචාර්යවරයා වශයෙන් දශක තුනකට අධික කාලයක් අපමණ වූ ශිෂ්‍ය පිරිසකගේ නැණනුවණ පෑදූ අභාවප්‍රාප්ත ගණිත විද්‍යා පුහුණු ගුරු ජයන්ත කුමාර ජයසුන්දර මහතාට උතුම් වූ නිර්වාණාවබෝධයම වේවා'යි ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරමු.

We deeply regret to announce the passing of Mr. Jayantha Kumara Jayasundara, the former Teacher-in-Charge of Mathematics at Sri Sangharaja Mahaviraya, Malwathu Maha Vihariya.

He served the institution with dedication for over three decades, shaping the lives of countless students through his knowledge, discipline, and kindness. We wish him to attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana.

මහාවිහාරවංශික ස්‍යාමොපාලි මහානිකායේ මල්වතු විහාර පාර්ශ්වයේ ශ්‍රීමත් මහානායක මාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේගේ මගපෙන්වීමෙන් සකස් කරන ලද ඓතිහාසික මල්වතු මහාවිහාරීය ශ්‍රී සංඝරාජ පිරිවෙන් අභිනව ශිෂ්‍ය නේවාසිකාගාරය අතිගෞරවාර්හ දිඹුල්කුඹුරේ ශ්‍රී සරණංකර විමලධම්මාභිධාන අනුනායක ස්වාමීන්ද්‍රයන් වහන්සේ ප්‍රධාන විංශද්වාර්ගික කාරක සංඝසභාවේ මහා ලේඛකාධිකාරී පහමුණේ ධර්ම කීර්ති ශ්‍රී සරණංකර සුමංගලාභිධාන නායක ස්වාමීන්ද්‍රයන් වහන්සේ ඇතුළු ගරුතර කාරක සංඝසභාවේ නායක ස්වාමීන්ද්‍රයන් වහන්සේලාගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් වර්ෂ 2026ක්වූ ජනවාරි මස 29 වන දින විවෘත කරන ලදි.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට ශ්‍රී දංෂ්ට්‍රා ධාතු මන්දිරයේ ගරු දියවඩන නිලමේතුමා ප්‍රධාන සතර දේවාලවල බස්නායක නිලමේවරු සහභාගි වූහ.

The new student hostel of Sri Sangharaja Pirivena, Malwathu Maha Viharaya, constructed under the guidance of the Most Venerable Mahanayake Thero of the Malwatta Chapter of the Siam Nikaya, was ceremonially opened on 29 January 2026.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Most Venerable Dimbulkumbure Sri Saranankara Wimaladhamma Anunayake Thero, The Deputy Prelate of the Malwatta Chapter; Venerable Pahamune Sri Sumangala Nayake Thero, General Secretary of the Supreme Sangha Council of the Malwatta Chapter; and the members of the Supreme Sangha Council. The Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, along with the Basnayake Nilames of the four main Devalayas of Kandy, also participated in this event.

මහනුවර ශ්‍රී සංඝරාජ මහ පිරිවෙණෙහි ඉතිහාසය, සමාජ විද්‍යාව සහ බෞද්ධ ශිෂ්ටාචාරය විෂයයන් භාරව කටයුතු කළ ප්‍රවීණාචාර්ය එස්.බී. ලියනගේ මහතා 2025.11.28 වන දින " පුරා වර්ෂ විසි අටක් (28) ස්වකීය පිරිවෙන් ගුරු වෘත්තියට සමුදෙමින් විශ්‍රාම ගත්තේ ය. ඒ වෙනුවෙන් ඊයේ දින (2026.01.20) විශ්‍රාමික ගුරූපහාර උත්සවයක් ශ්‍රී සංඝරාජ පාරිවේණික අමුණුගම ශ්‍රී විපස්සි ගුණානුස්මරණ ශාලාවේ දී පැවැත් විණ. විෂය ඥානයෙන් පරිපූර්ණ ගුණගරුක ශිෂ්‍ය පිරිසක් ඇති කිරීම සඳහා කැපවීමෙන් සහ උනන්දුවෙන් කටයුතු කළ එස්.බී.ලියනගේ මහතාට කාය-චිත්ත පීඩාදියෙන් තොරව කටයුතු කරන්නට ත්‍රිවිධරත්නයේ ආශීර්වාදයෙන් ආයුරාරෝග්‍ය සම්පත්තිය ලැබේවා'යි ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරමු.

Retirement Gratitude Ceremony – 20 January 2026

Mr. S. B. Liyanage, a veteran teacher who taught History, Social Science, and Buddhist Civilization at Sri Sangharaja Maha Pirivena, Kandy, retired from the teaching profession on 28 November 2025 after twenty-eight (28) years of dedicated service.

A Retirement Gratitude Ceremony was held on 20 January 2026 at the Amunugama Rajaguru Sri Vipassi Memorial Hall, Sri Sangharaja Maha Pirivena.

We wish that Mr. S. B. Liyanage, who served with dedication and enthusiasm in nurturing a generation of virtuous students, may be blessed with good health and well-being by the noble blessings of the Triple Gem.

''ආදරෙන් සුරකින්න - අපට ලොව දිනන්නට" යන්න තේමා කොට ගත් 2025 වර්ෂයේ ලෝක ළමා දින සැමරුමට සමගාමීව මල්වතු මහාවිහාරීය ශ්‍රී සංඝරාජ මහ පිරිවෙණ මගින් ලෝක ළමා දින සැමරුම 2025.10.01 දින පවත්වන ලදි. මෙම අවස්ථාවට මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික් සහකාර අධ්‍යාපන අධ්‍යක්ෂ රාජකීය පණ්ඩිත ශාස්ත්‍රපති ගල්ලෑල්ලේ සෝරත හිමියෝ ද සහභාගි වූහ.
World Children’s Day Celebration – 2025

In line with the World Children’s Day celebrations of 2025, held under the theme “Nurture with Love – To Lead the World,” the Sri Sangharaja Maha Pirivena of Malwatta Maha Viharaya organized a special program on October 1, 2025. Retirement Ceremony of Venerable Hettimulle Sarananda Thero – 29.08.2025

Venerable Hettimulle Sarananda Thero, Deputy Chief Judicial Sanghanayaka of Yatinuwara and the Tripitaka Dharmaya teacher of Sri Sangharaja Maha Pirivena, Kandy, retired today after an illustrious teaching career spanning thirty-three (33) years.

The retirement ceremony was held today at the Amunugama Rajaguru Sri Vipassi Memorial Hall of Sri Sangharaja Maha Pirivena.

We sincerely wish that Venerable Hettimulle Sarananda Nayaka Thero, who has dedicated himself with commitment and enthusiasm to nurturing the students well-versed in the Dhamma and Vinaya, be blessed with good health, longevity, and the strength to continue his religious activities free from physical and mental afflictions, under the blessings of the Noble Triple Gem.
