Congratulations to Dr. Harsha Suranga Fernando on His Appointment as Governor of the Central Province

Heartiest congratulations to Dr. Harsha Suranga Fernando, who was sworn in today as the new Governor of the Central Province, taking his oath before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Dr. Fernando is a highly respected public health specialist with an outstanding career in preventive and community healthcare. He has served as an Immunization Specialist with the World Health Organization (WHO) across several countries, making significant contributions to global public health. He is also a proud old boy of Dharmaraja College, Kandy, and a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya. Prior to this appointment, he served with distinction as the District Consultant Community Physician for Kandy.

His extensive experience in public health, preventive medicine, and community healthcare, combined with his international exposure and dedication to public service, makes him exceptionally well suited to this important role.

Wishing Dr. Harsha Suranga Fernando every success as he embarks on this new journey of serving the people of the Central Province. May his leadership bring progress, prosperity, and positive transformation to the province and its communities.

අවිවාදයෙන්ම ලංකාවේ ලස්සනම පරිසර සුන්දරත්වයක් තිබෙන පාසල් ක්‍රිකට් ක්‍රීඩාංගණ අතරින් ප්‍රමුඛතම ක්‍රීඩාංගණයක් වන්නේ මහනුවර ධර්මරාජය සතු ලේක් විව් ක්‍රීඩාංගණයයි..

මෙය හුදු ක්‍රීඩාංගණයක්ම පමණක් නොව , ඒ හා බැදුණු සුවිශේෂි ඓතිහාසික කරුණු රැසක් මෙහි පවති..

2011-2013 කාලයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා වයස අවුරුදු 19 න් පහළ තරග වලට පවා සත්කාරකත්වය සැපයූ ක්‍රීඩාංගණයක්,
එසේම ජාතික කණ්ඩායම් ක්‍රීඩකයින් නිතර ආ ගිය ක්‍රීඩාංගනයක් , ලීග් තරගාවලියන්ට පවා සත්කාරකත්වය ලබා දුන් ක්‍රීඩාංගණයක් , ඒ වගේම මා දන්නා තරමින් මෙරට මුහුදු මට්ටමේ සිට ඉහළම උන්නතාංශයකින් පිහිටි Turf Wickets පිහිටා තිබෙන පාසල් ක්‍රිකට් ක්‍රීඩාංගණයක්..

ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේ පසෙකින් පිහිටා තිබෙන මෙරට ඉතිහාසයේ ඓතිහාසික සිදුවීම් රැසකට පාදක වූ ඩි.එච් ලෝරන්ස් , මහත්මා ගාන්ධි , බේඩ්න් පාවෙල් සාමි , රවින්ද්‍රනාත් තාගෝර් , උදය ශන්කර් , ක්‍රිෂ්ණ මූර්ති , ශාන්ති නිකේතනයේ නන්දලාල් බොස් , ඇමරිකානු චිත්‍ර ශිල්පීන් වන අර්ල් සහ අච්සා ඇතුළු තවත් ලෝක දේශපාලන / සාහිත්‍ය චරිත රැසක් පවා සංචාරය කර ඇති ආද්නරි බංගලාව ( ධර්මරාජ විදුහල්පති නිළ නිවස ) මෙම ක්‍රීඩාංගණය හා බැදුණු ප්‍රෞඪත්වය තවත් වැඩි කරන බව නොරහසකි..

2011-2013 කාලයේ තිබූ ආකාරයටම එම ක්‍රීඩාංගණය නැවත ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණ කොට පෙර තිබූ පරිදි ජාතික හා ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමේ තරග පැවැත්විය හැකි මට්ටමට මෙම ක්‍රීඩාංගණය රැක ගැනීමට ධර්මරාජයට හිතැති සියලූම දෙනා පෙල ගැසෙමු…
