📚 Launch of Easy Reference Guides – 2025 📘✨
The ‘Easy Reference Remedial Guide’ and ‘Easy Reference Guide for Basic Score “C” Project in English’ were officially launched on 23rd December 2025 at 10.00 a.m. at the Main Hall of the Zonal Education Office, Kalmunai.
The programme was conducted under the guidance and leadership of Mr. M. S. Sahuthul Najeem, Zonal Director of Education – Kalmunai.
During this event, all Principals of schools conducting G.C.E. (O/L) classes received copies of these activity-based guides. These materials are designed to support remedial teaching and to help students improve their performance, particularly in achieving a Basic Score “C” in English.
This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Zonal Education Office – Kalmunai to strengthening academic standards and supporting both teachers and students.

📘 ICT Training Workshop on IoT & Scratch Programming 💻🌐

Today and tomorrow, the Zonal Education Office – Kalmunai is successfully conducting a two-day ICT Training Workshop on “Internet of Things (IoT) and Scratch Programming”, in collaboration with the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL).

This workshop was organized in response to the requests of many ICT teachers, as these topics have been newly introduced into the curriculum. The programme is being conducted at the University Technology ICT – CEZERI Studio (Zezeri Lab Unit), with the enthusiastic participation of 21 ICT teachers from the Kalmunai Zone.

🎉 Grand Achievers’ Day – 2025 | A Memorable Milestone 🎉

The Grand Achievers’ Day – 2025 was successfully and gracefully concluded today at Km/Km/Al-Manar Central College, organized by the Zonal Education Office, Kalmunai.

🌟 The event was honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest,

📢 Smart Board Training Programme – TRC Project
Kalmunai Zonal Education Office

Under the TRC Project, as part of the Digital Transformation initiative, the Kalmunai Zonal Education Office successfully conducted a Smart Board Training Programme for Non-ICT teachers, school principals, and teachers from Special Needs Unit schools.

So far, four batches have successfully completed the training. The participating teachers showed high enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the program and demonstrated a strong interest in learning both the practical use and technical aspects of smart boards.

Participants conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to the Zonal Education Office, Provincial Education Department, Ministry of Education and also to the ITDLH Manager and staff, Kalmunai for providing this valuable opportunity. Teachers strongly believe that the knowledge and skills gained through this training will positively reflect in their classroom practices and enhance student learning experiences.

The recent floods across Sri Lanka affected many families and a `certain number of students.
We are happy to share that the Zonal Education Office has successfully collected and distributed emergency items to the affected Areas

All collected items were organized and handed over to the students and families in the affected areas.

🌟 Kalmunai Zonal Level Workshop on New Educational Reforms – 2026 (Grade 6 ICT) 🌟

A three-day workshop on New Educational Reforms 2026 for Grade 6 ICT Teachers was successfully held on 6th, 7th, and 8th November 2025 at ITDLH, Kalmunai, organized by the Zonal Education Office, Kalmunai. under the supervision of Mr. M.S. Sahuthul Najeem (SLEAS 1) Sir, Zonal Director of Education, Kalmunai.

Nearly 65 ICT Teachers participated in this capacity-building programme.

📘 Day 1 Highlights:
✨ Mrs. M.H. Riyasa (SLEAS) – Deputy Director of Education – inaugurated the workshop and discussed the General Reforms 2026.
✨ Mrs. A.A. Maleek (SLEAS), Assistant Director of Education, conducted the second session on General Reforms.
✨ Mr. Siyam, Teacher Advisor (Special Education), delivered an informative session on Inclusive Education.
Mr. A. Partheepan (SLEAS), Provincial Deputy Director – ICT, also visited the workshop and discussed important matters regarding the upcoming Educational Reforms 2026.

💻 Day 2 & 3 Highlights:
✨ Mrs. Haris (Instructor, ITDLH Kalmunai) and Mr. G. Jothyrajah led interactive sessions on ICT Reforms, covering new modules, Further Modules, assessment methods, and practical applications.

🎓 All participants were awarded Certificates of Participation at the end of the workshop.

👏 The event provided valuable insights into the 2026 reforms and strengthened teachers’ readiness to implement the new Grade 6 ICT curriculum effectively.
