Little Stars Montessori - LSM

Little Stars Montessori - LSM Little Stars is dedicated to following the A.M.I. Montessori method of education with excellence since 1982. https://linktr.ee/littlestarsmontessori

Little Stars Montessori was established in the Kapuwatte area in Ja-Ela, Sri- lanka on 4th May 1982. The expansion of our schools into the West Coast of Sri – Lanka from Kapuwatte to Wattala and to Negombo areas speaks of the success of our Montessori. Little Stars Montessori (LSM) is based on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori and provides a happy, peaceful, safe, and home–like environment for children throughout their day at LSM. We are committed to a programme in which your child is respected as an individual and encouraged to develop at his or her own pace, laying the foundation for a love of learning for life. Our teachers are loving, joyful, professional, and dedicated in supporting the development of the children. We have only AMI qualified staff to take care of your children and we strictly follow the AMI teaching method. The medium of instruction in the classroom is English. Sinhala and Tamil are taught as subjects.

Something Exciting is Happening This August!

For over 44 years, Little Stars Montessori has had the privilege of nurturing children through authentic AMI Montessori education, helping them grow into confident, independent, and disciplined young learners.

As we prepare to celebrate 45 Years of Montessori Excellence in 2027 and the opening of St. Michael International in Ja-Ela, we’d like to thank the families who have trusted us over the years by giving something back to our community.

To mark this special milestone, we’re offering 50% OFF the Admission Fee for new admissions to Little Stars Montessori (3rd Term 2026) during our Open House.

We warmly invite you to visit us, explore our Montessori environment, and discover why families have trusted Little Stars Montessori for generations.

Food preparation day at LSM Negombo 😍

Our little Starians had so much fun making their own burgers.

Our little toddlers had an amazing time preparing food. More than just a fun activity, it was a wonderful hands-on experience that encouraged independence, built confidence, and developed fine motor skills—all while having so much fun.

These simple moments are where some of the biggest learning begins.

Childhood only happens once.

The environment we give our children today shapes the adults they become tomorrow.

At Little Stars Montessori, children are free to explore, discover, create, and learn at their own pace in a calm, carefully prepared environment designed just for them.

Because when children love learning from the very beginning, that love lasts a lifetime.
