👽 පිටසක්වල තරු අතරින් ආ අමුත්තා ('Oumuamua) 🚀

ඔබට මතකද? 2017 වසරේදී, අපේ සෞරග්‍රහ මණ්ඩලයට පිටසක්වල ලෝකයකින් අමුත්තෙක් පැමිණියා. මෙවැනි වස්තුවක් අපි මින් පෙර කිසිදා දැක තිබුණේ නැහැ! 🤯

මෙය Interstellar Object (ISO) එකක් ලෙස හඳුන්වනු ලබන අතර, එය අපේ සූර්යයාගේ ගුරුත්වාකර්ෂණයට කිසිසේත් බැඳී නැහැ. එය වෙනත් තරු පද්ධතියකින් එළියට විසි වී, මිලියන ගණනක් වසර පුරා ක්ෂීරපථය (Milky Way) පුරා සැරිසරලා අපේ සෞරග්‍රහ මණ්ඩලයට පැමිණි වස්තුවක්.
එහි නම 'Oumuamua (ඕමුවාමුවා). එය අපි දැක ඇති කිසිදු ග්‍රහකයක් හෝ ධූමකේතුවක් වගේ නෙවෙයි. එය සිගරැට්ටුවක හෝ පැතලි පෑන්කේක් එකක හැඩයක් ගත්තා. දිග පළලට වඩා 10 ගුණයකින් පමණ වැඩියි.

The object, named 'Oumuamua, had its main factor in its shape. Unlike any asteroid or comet we've ever observed, it was extremely elongated—shaped like a cigar or a very flat pancake, up to 10 times longer than it was wide.

The Speed Mystery: It also behaved strangely. As it sped away from the Sun, it accelerated faster than gravity alone could account for. This acceleration happened without the typical tail of gas or dust (like a comet) that would push it forward.
Scientists couldn't agree on what natural phenomenon could cause this. Some high-profile Harvard astronomers even suggested it could potentially be an artificial object—a piece of extraterrestrial technology or a defunct "light sail" probe.
