Dana wasn’t sure she’d get past the fear of putting her face in open water.

Three breaths in, the reef opened up under her — parrotfish grazing the coral, sunlight cutting through in blue shafts. No wetsuit zip, no gear check, just her and the water doing exactly what she came to Trinco for. By the time she surfaced, she was already asking when she could go back down.
