In Japan, the first three years of school aren’t a pressure cooker of exams and grades like in many countries. 📚 Instead, kids spend that time learning something deeper: how to be good people.

Respect. Kindness. Discipline. Teamwork. Responsibility. These aren’t side lessons — they’re front and center.

Sure, kids still study reading, writing, and math. But tests don’t dominate. The focus is on building a moral compass and teaching kids how to live in harmony with others.

That’s why students clean their own classrooms, serve lunches, and take care of shared spaces — lessons in humility and community that stick for life.

By the time real exams start in 4th grade, children aren’t just ready to learn — they’re ready to thrive. Japan’s secret? Education of the heart before education of the mind. ❤️
