📚 ස්ථානය දක්වන Prepositions

Prepositions help us show where something is.
Prepositions කියන්නේ වස්තුවක් කොතැන තියෙනවාද කියලා පෙන්වන්න භාවිතා කරන වචනයි.

Here are three common ones:
මෙන්න සාමාන්‍යයෙන් භාවිතා කරන තුනක්:

🔹 IN – inside something
🔹 IN – කිසිවක් අතුළත තිබෙන විට
Example: The toy is in the box.
උදාහරණය: බෝලය පෙට්ටිය අතුළේ තියෙනවා.

🔹 ON – on top of something
🔹 ON – කිසිවක් ඉහළට / මතුපිට තිබෙන විට
Example: The cat is on the table.
උදාහරණය: බළලා මේසය මත තියෙනවා.

🔹 UNDER – below something
🔹 UNDER – කිසිවක් පහළින් තිබෙන විට
Example: The ball is under the chair.
උදාහරණය: බෝලය පුටුව යට තියෙනවා.

Try this at home!

Ask your child to place a toy:
ඔබගේ දරුවාට බෝලයක් හෝ සෙල්ලම් බඩුවක් තැබීමට කියන්න:

✔ in a box – පෙට්ටියක අතුළට

✔ under a chair – පුටුවක් යට

Then ask them: Where is the toy?
ඊළඟට ඔවුන්ගෙන් අහන්න: “සෙල්ලම් බඩුව කොහෙද තියෙන්නේ?
