Prompt literacy is the new digital literacy.

One of the most empowering skills teachers can develop right now?

Prompt engineering.

And no, prompt engineering (despite the scary moniker) is not just for coders or tech enthusiasts, it’s for everyone who wants to unlock the full potential of AI whether in education or elsewhere.

When teachers ask me where to learn how to write better prompts, I point them to a few standout resources:

1. Promptingguide.ai – covers everything from basics to advanced techniques with examples

2. Learnprompting.org – open-source, community-driven, and research-informed

3. Google Prompting Guide 101 – highlights essential prompt elements: Persona, Task, Context, Format

4. Anthropic Prompting Guide – includes powerful strategies like chain-of-thought and multishot prompting

These aren’t education-specific, but they’re packed with insights teachers can apply immediately: in lesson design, student support, curriculum creation, and more.
