โ€“ Used old, common templates for Speaking & Writing
โ€“ Speaking dropped to 66 โ€” I actually tried the exact same retell lecture structure for both Summarize Group Discussion & Respond to Situation, got flagged hard. ๐Ÿ˜… Pretty sure I lost 25+ marks there

โ€“ Writing was hit hard too โ€” I used a 2022-style essay template where you just repeat the topic + keywords a few times. For SWT, I combined lines without changing anything, didnโ€™t go well ๐Ÿ˜…

โ€“ Listening 72 โ€” Summarize Group Discussion alone gives 15โ€“16 marks. I likely lost most of them. Maybe a few slip-ups in repeat sentences too

โ€“ Reading: I wanted to see how much SWT impacts it. FIBs were fine, but weak SWT content definitely hurt my score

๐ŸŽฏ Takeaway: Most old tricks no longer work. But this was a great test โ€” now I know what NOT to do.

๐Ÿ“… ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐Ÿฎ โ€“ ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฑ๐˜๐—ต ๐—”๐˜‚๐—ด๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜ (๐—ฆ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ: ๐Ÿด๐Ÿณ)

โ€“ Speaking: 90 โ€” Describe Image is king now! I used my old method (keywords, structured delivery) but spoke naturally. For Summarize Group Discussion & Respond to Situation, I used a new structure, this time with natural tone and flow. Structures are gold if used right! ๐Ÿ™Œ

โ€“ Writing: 90 โ€” Had a planned structure for Essay, but added extra content, and related phrases. SWT was done smartly using the same method we used, but this time with more context โ€” 90!

โ€“ Reading: 86 โ€” Probably lost a few marks in Highlight Incorrect Words โ€” it was super fast!

โ€“ Listening: 82 โ€” Maybe missed some content in Summarize Group Discussion (could have done better) or a few RS as usual ๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†”๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ก What Worked:

โœ… One-line strategy for Read Aloud โ€” 100% safe now (As content doesnโ€™t get hurt anymore)
โœ… Old techniques still work for Describe Image, Retell Lecture, FIBs
โœ… Structures work for New Speaking questions! โ€” but needs clarity, connection, and natural tone
โœ… Focused on tone, pacing, fluency as this gives the impression that you are natural
โœ… Essay and Summaries are game changers. Throw away all garbage templates. Structure with content for the Win !!!

๐ŸšจPTE Exam Changes โ€“ What Iโ€™ve Found So Far

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

As many of you have asked, Iโ€™ve been looking into all the recent updates to the PTE exam, which officially change from 7th August 2025. While I havenโ€™t done the new exam yet, Iโ€™ve gone through the updated mock tests, reviewed Pearsonโ€™s latest research, and hereโ€™s what I believe we should focus on โ€” for now.

โœ… Iโ€™ll be doing the real exam shortly after the changes go live, and Iโ€™ll post a detailed breakdown of what worked once I experience it myself.

โธป

๐ŸŽค SPEAKING โ€“ Whatโ€™s Standing Out So Far

There are two new tasks introduced:
โ€ข Summarise Group Discussion
โ€ข Respond to a Situation

Both look like theyโ€™ll be quite important, especially for Speaking and Listening scores.

๐Ÿ”น Describe Image โ€“ looks like itโ€™s back in the spotlight. It appeared more frequently in the mocks, and based on how the scores moved, it seems to contribute up to 30% of your Speaking score. So yeah, youโ€™ll want to give this one solid attention.

๐Ÿ”น Summarise Group Discussion โ€“ also seems to hold major weight. While some sources say itโ€™s about 18% of Speaking, based on my mock results, Iโ€™d say it might even be slightly higher. Either way, itโ€™s clearly one of the biggest tasks now.

๐Ÿ”น Repeat Sentence and Retell Lecture โ€“ these two remain key tasks. Iโ€™d still practice them thoroughly.

๐Ÿ”ป Read Aloud seems to have dropped off in importance:
โ€ข It no longer gives marks to Reading
โ€ข It still contributes a little to Speaking (roughly 9%)
So if itโ€™s not perfect, donโ€™t panic โ€” it wonโ€™t affect your score like before.

๐Ÿ”ป Answer Short Questions seem to contribute very little now.

๐Ÿ“ Templates โ€“ from what Iโ€™ve seen so far, I think they can still work, as long as youโ€™re giving relevant, meaningful content. I wouldnโ€™t recommend using fixed or generic lines that donโ€™t relate to the image or topic. The system seems smart enough to pick up on that.

โธป

โœ๏ธ WRITING โ€“ Now More Important Than Ever

Writing is no longer the module you can leave for last. From what Iโ€™ve seen and what the research shows, it has become one of the highest-scoring sections.

๐Ÿ“Œ Summarize Written Text:
โ€ข Now contributes around 25โ€“30% to your writing score (and a bit to Reading)
โ€ข Best approach? Pick key sentences and link them logically using proper connectors
โ€ข Try to make it flow naturally โ€” small edits or rewording can help, but the main thing is relevance

๐Ÿ“Œ Essay:
โ€ข This used to be only 8โ€“10%, but now it seems to be closer to 30%
โ€ข In the mocks, I tried writing essays from scratch (no template), and the weight felt much higher than before
โ€ข Structure still helps, but the content and how you address the topic matter more than ever
โ€ข If youโ€™re weak in essay writing, youโ€™ll want to fix that fast

โธป

๐Ÿ“š READING โ€“ Needs Your Full Focus Now

This section might feel tougher simply because youโ€™re not getting easy marks from Read Aloud anymore.

Tasks that now truly affect your Reading score:
โ€ข Summarize Written Text
โ€ข Highlight Incorrect Words
โ€ข Reorder Paragraphs
โ€ข Highlight Correct Summary
โ€ข MCQ (Single & Multiple) โ€” still low-weight, but adds up

โš ๏ธ My suggestion? Donโ€™t rush through the MCQs. Even if they donโ€™t carry a lot of weight, theyโ€™re easy points if you focus.

โธป

๐ŸŽง LISTENING โ€“ Strongly Tied to Speaking

Iโ€™ve noticed that a lot of Listening marks now depend on how you perform in Speaking tasks like:
โ€ข Repeat Sentence
โ€ข Retell Lecture
โ€ข Summarise Group Discussion

Then there are your standard Listening tasks:
โ€ข Summarize Spoken Text
โ€ข Fill in the Blanks
โ€ข Write from Dictation
โ€ข Highlight Incorrect Words

โ“One thing people ask a lot: Can we still add extra words in Write from Dictation?

Based on the mock test results and the updated scoring guide, it seems like extra words donโ€™t lose you marks โ€” you just donโ€™t get credit for the wrong ones. Iโ€™ll test this properly in the real exam and confirm soon.

โธป

๐Ÿ“Œ What to Focus On (for Now)

๐ŸŸข Put more time into:
โ€ข Describe Image
โ€ข Summarise Group Discussion
โ€ข Essay
โ€ข Summarize Written Text
โ€ข Write from Dictation

๐Ÿ”ด Worry less about:
โ€ข Read Aloud
โ€ข Answer Short Questions
โ€ข MCQs (still useful, but not as critical)

โธป

๐Ÿ”œ Whatโ€™s Next

As soon as I take the real version of the test, Iโ€™ll come back with:
โ€ข Confirmed strategies
โ€ข Updated templates
โ€ข Honest feedback on whatโ€™s working and whatโ€™s not
โ€ข And videos explaining all of it clearly

Until then, donโ€™t stress โ€” just focus on quality practice and mastering the tasks that matter most.

๐Ÿ“ข PTE Academic Update โ€“ Changes from 7th August 2025 ๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿšจ

Pearson has officially announced changes to the PTE Academic test format starting 07/08/2025. These updates affect how different sections are scored โ€” but as of now, the score requirements for visas, PR, and immigration remain unchanged.

That said, itโ€™s still uncertain whether the Australian Government or other immigration bodies will accept the newly suggested score equivalencies. So for now, everything stays the same for visa purposes, but itโ€™s something to watch in the future.

โธป

๐Ÿ†• Key Test Format Changes:

โ€ข Read Aloud
โ†’ Will now count only toward Speaking, not Reading
โ†’ Reading will now rely more on actual reading tasks

โ€ข Answer Short Questions
โ†’ Will only impact Listening, not Speaking

โ€ข New tasks added to Speaking
โ†’ This slightly reduces the weight of older speaking questions

โ€ข Summarize Written Text
โ†’ Now worth lesser marks
โ†’ Will count only toward Writing, not Reading

โ€ข Reading/Writing dropdown blanks
โ†’ Will now count only toward Reading, no longer toward Writing

โธป

๐Ÿ“Œ Whatโ€™s Staying the Same (for now):

Even though Pearson has released a new score comparison between PTE and IELTS, immigration departments have NOT adopted these changes yet. Until further notice, the following score requirements still apply for most visa and PR pathways:
โ€ข PTE 50 = IELTS 6
โ€ข PTE 58 = IELTS 6.5
โ€ข PTE 65 = IELTS 7
โ€ข PTE 79 = IELTS 8

So while the test format is changing, the visa scoring rules remain the same โ€” unless officially updated by the Department of Home Affairs or relevant authorities.

โธป

๐Ÿ“Œ Summary:

From August 7, 2025, the PTE Academic test will have a new scoring format, especially for Speaking, Reading, and Writing. The visa and PR score requirements are unchanged, but future government decisions are still uncertain. Stay updated and prepare wisely!

๐ŸŒŸ Important Update for PTE Aspirants ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ“ฃ Big Changes in PTE Pearson!
On 4th November, Pearson introduced some major changes, leaving many studentsโ€”especially those relying on templatesโ€”confused about what works and what doesnโ€™t anymore. Let me share my experience from taking 3 PTE exams in a month to figure this out, so you donโ€™t have to!

๐Ÿงช Exam 1:
I walked in casually in November and scored almost a perfect 90! ๐ŸŽฏ
This was when I passed the word to my former students who reached out, worried about the changes. I slightly tweaked my speaking style (which is a must now), but I stuck to the same structures and strategies we discussed in class. The result? Templates can still work, but you need to be smart about how you use them!

๐Ÿงช Exam 2: (Speaking and Writing only)
This time, I focused only on the Speaking and Writing components, pretending to be a typical "beautiful picture" PTE test taker.

Used the most common Describe Image and common lecture template. Copied random lines in summaries, added punctuation here and there, and wrote a most basic essay.
๐Ÿ’ก What happened? My Speaking scores dropped drastically (Probably Describe Image and Retell Lecture scored 0), and Writing was caught for lack of originality. This shows Pearson's new human review system (probably AI) is smarter than ever. No shortcuts hereโ€”they catch everything now!

๐Ÿงช Exam 3: (Speaking and Writing only)
This time, I tested my own structures and tricks for Speaking, SWT, and Essay. I fumbled a bit in some places (which is very normal), but the scores were significantly better! โœ… This confirmed that personalised strategies still work well under the new system.

๐ŸŽฏ The Conclusion?
1๏ธโƒฃ Donโ€™t blindly follow templates, not only for SPEAKING, but also for WRITING. Be smart if you need a high score, and tailor them to your unique style.
2๏ธโƒฃ Pearson is not for weak anymore. The human intervention (possibly AI) is monitoring Speaking and Writing closely.
3๏ธโƒฃ Be different and aim strategically for your 79 score.

๐ŸŒŸ Updated About My Classes:
I know Iโ€™ve been silent for nearly a year, and many of you have reached out. Iโ€™m still busy, so I canโ€™t start regular group classes yet. However, Iโ€™m available for small groups and individual sessions if our timings match.

๐Ÿ“ฉ DM me to book your spot! Letโ€™s crack this new system together.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Donโ€™t hate me for not being super active here โ€”Iโ€™m here to help you succeed. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Stay focused and aim high! ๐Ÿš€
Stay tuned!

Attention โ—๏ธโ—๏ธโ—๏ธ

Hey to all my OGs and new faces! So, Pearsonโ€™s bringing some updates to the PTE, and this just proves why Iโ€™ve always said not to rely on templates. โŒ
We donโ€™t settle for what everyone does, and thatโ€™s how we keep hitting those 90s while others struggle with โ€˜beautiful pictures and lecturesโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜…

Go crush the exam like we always do!

Iโ€™m taking another REAL EXAM in the first week of November (as usual), so weโ€™ll see whatโ€™s new from there.
Keep up the great work, legends!
