ππ Congratulations are in order! ππ
We are thrilled to announce that Sri Lanka's National Chess Champion, Susal De Silva, is set to represent our beautiful motherland at the World Cup Chess Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2023! ππ±π°
Susal is not only the highest-rated chess player in Sri Lanka, but also a force to be reckoned with on the world stage. He has already shown his incredible talent, commitment, and strategic thinking by winning back-to-back trophies in Kyrgyzstan, at the West Asian Chess Championship. This is a remarkable accomplishment and one that shows Susal's dedication and hard work.
This is the third time a Sri Lankan player is taking part in the World Cup cycle - the first being Sachini Ranasinghe, who represented Sri Lanka in the Women's World Cup Chess Championship, and Ranidu Liyanage, who represented Sri Lanka in the World Cup Chess Championship as the first male player. Now, our talented Susal is going to represent Sri Lanka in this prestigious event, and we couldn't be more proud.
From sach chess academy we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Susal and supportive family and his coach
We know that he will represent our nation with pride and honor. May his passion, skills, and love for the game guide him to shine on the world stage once again.
Let us come together once again to congratulate Susal on his remarkable achievement and to wish him all the best as he prepares for the World Cup Chess Championship in 2023.
