ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සූපශාස්ත්‍ර ක්ෂේත්‍රය සහ විනෝදාස්වාද ක්ෂේත්‍රය යන ද්විත්වයම එකිනෙක මුසු කරමින් නව්‍ය අනන්‍යතාවයක් ගොඩනැගූ ප්‍රවීණයෙකු ලෙස දොන් ෂර්මන් (Don Sherman), එසේත් නැතිනම් "සිංගින් චෙෆ්" (Singing Chef) හඳුන්වා දිය හැකිය.
ඔහුගේ වෘත්තීය ජීවිතය සහ සුවිශේෂීත්වය පිළිබඳ විද්වත් විවරණයක් පහත දැක්වේ.

දොන් ෂර්මන් යනු වෘත්තීය මට්ටමේ සූපවේදියෙකු මෙන්ම දක්ෂ ගායන ශිල්පියෙකු සහ නිවේදකයෙකි. ඔහු විසින් හඳුන්වා දුන් "Singing Chef" සංකල්පය මෙරට රූපවාහිනී මාධ්‍ය කලාව තුළ පෙරළියක් ඇති කළේය.
• නිර්මාණශීලී සන්නිවේදනය: සාමාන්‍යයෙන් ආහාර පිසීමේ වැඩසටහන් පවතින ඒකාකාරී රටාවෙන් බැහැර වී, ගායනය සහ හාස්‍යය මුසු කරමින් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයා ආකර්ෂණය කර ගැනීමට ඔහු සමත් විය.
• සූපශාස්ත්‍ර දැනුම: විනෝදාස්වාදය සපයන අතරම, ආහාරයක පෝෂණ ගුණය, නිවැරදි ප්‍රමිතිය සහ පිළිගැන්වීමේ කලාව (Food Presentation) පිළිබඳව විද්‍යාත්මක සහ ප්‍රායෝගික දැනුම ඔහු නිරතුරුවම ලබා දුන්නේය.
• මාධ්‍ය දායකත්වය: සිරස TV, ස්වර්ණවාහිනී ඇතුළු නාලිකා රැසක ඔහු මෙහෙයවූ සූපශාස්ත්‍ර වැඩසටහන් මෙරට ජනප්‍රිය සංස්කෘතියේ සුවිශේෂී සලකුණු බවට පත් විය.
සුවිශේෂී ලක්ෂණ සහ දක්ෂතා
දොන් ෂර්මන්ගේ සුවිශේෂීත්වය කරුණු කිහිපයක් ඔස්සේ විග්‍රහ කළ හැකිය:
1. බහුකාර්ය පෞරුෂය (Multifaceted Personality): එකවර ආහාර පිසීම, ගායනය සහ සජීවී ලෙස ප්‍රේක්ෂකයින් සමඟ අදහස් හුවමාරු කිරීමේ (Multi-tasking) අසාමාන්‍ය හැකියාව ඔහු සතුය.
2. අමුද්‍රව්‍ය පිළිබඳ අවබෝධය: දේශීය අමුද්‍රව්‍ය භාවිතා කරමින් ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමේ (Fusion) ආහාර පිළියෙළ කිරීමේදී ඔහු දක්වන කුසලතාවය ඉහළය.
3. ශ්‍රව්‍ය-දෘශ්‍ය සම්මුඛනය: සංගීතය සහ ආහාර පිසීම යන මිනිස් මනස සුවපත් කරන කලාවන් දෙකක් එකට එක් කිරීම හරහා ඔහු "Edutainment" (අධ්‍යාපනික විනෝදාස්වාදය) යන සංකල්පය ප්‍රායෝගිකව ක්‍රියාවට නැංවීය.
