Students of the Mihiranga Perera Academy of Dance proudly presented the traditional *Ves Dance* of the Kandyan dance heritage at the World Dance Day Celebration held in New Delhi, India.

The Ves Dance, known as one of the most sacred and distinguished forms of Sri Lankan cultural expression, beautifully reflects the richness, grace, and spiritual depth of the island’s heritage. With its vibrant costumes, rhythmic drum beats, powerful movements, and disciplined artistry, the performance captivated the audience and brought the true essence of Sri Lankan tradition to the international stage.

For all of us, it was a deeply emotional and proud moment to witness our culture being admired and appreciated among artists from around the world. The performance not only showcased the talent and dedication of the young dancers, but also highlighted the timeless beauty of Sri Lanka’s Kandyan dance tradition and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
