Lumbini Confucius Classroom was honored to participate in the “International Tai Chi Day” celebration held at Galle Face Green, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka together with local partners. More than 500 Tai Chi enthusiasts from across the country joined this special cultural event.

Our team proudly presented the traditional Chinese wellness exercise “Wu Qin Xi” (Five-Animal Exercises), showcasing the beauty and harmony of Chinese traditional culture. The performance received warm appreciation from the audience and organizers alike.

We are also excited to announce that Tai Chi classes will soon begin at Lumbini Confucius Classroom as part of our continuing efforts to promote Chinese culture and strengthen cultural exchange between China and Sri Lanka. 🇨🇳🇱🇰

🎓 Lumbini Confucius Classroom Successfully Conducts March 2026 HSK Examination 🇨🇳🇱🇰

On March 22, 2026, Lumbini Confucius Classroom successfully conducted the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).

A total of 128 candidates participated in the examination, with sessions covering HSK Levels 1–6 and HSKK (Beginner to Advanced) across 8 examination halls.

Despite recent travel challenges in Sri Lanka due to fuel shortages, both teachers and students made great efforts to attend, contributing to the successful completion of the examination.

The 19th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students
(Sri Lanka Preliminary Round) 🇨🇳

Successfully Held 🎉

On March 28, 2026, the Preliminary Round of the 19th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students (Sri Lanka Division) was successfully held at Lumbini College in Colombo.

A total of 157 secondary school students from 9 provinces, 25 districts, and 58 schools across Sri Lanka registered for the competition.

This year’s competition continued to adopt a combined format of written examination and interview, providing a comprehensive assessment of participants’ Chinese language knowledge, communication skills, and cross-cultural understanding.

This event provided an excellent opportunity for students from different regions and schools to showcase their Chinese language achievements, shared learning experiences among participants and to build new friendships.

After evaluation, 50 outstanding students have been selected to advance to the national semi-finals, where they will continue to compete in the next stages.

We look forward to seeing the participants achieve even greater success in the upcoming rounds.
