As part of our ongoing Ocean & Coastal Conservation efforts, we carried out another successful beach cleanup at Sampalthivu Beach near our Nilaveli Nursery, together with Marine Environment Protection Authority-Sri Lanka , NRC (Negombo Recycling Centre), and FCBS students from Eastern University.
Rather than working against a time limit, the team focused on restoring a 75-meter stretch of shoreline to the best of our ability.
💚 Cleanup impact:
♻️ 30 kg of recyclable plastic collected for recycling
🗑️ 15 kg of non-recyclable plastic removed
🛍️ 11 kg of polythene cleared
🌿 25 kg of debris removed from the beach
Every effort like this helps protect marine life and keep our coastlines clean for future generations. 🌍✨

As part of our ongoing Plastic-Free Fishery Harbor initiative, we were proud to carry out another successful coastal cleanup at Cod Bay on January 30, 2026 — strengthening our commitment to protecting our oceans and marine life.
This meaningful effort was made possible through the partnership of CFHC Cod Bay, Ocean University Regional Centre – Cod Bay, and NRC (Negombo Recycling Centre), Trincomalee Branch, bringing together like-minded stakeholders who truly care about our environment.
💚 During this cleanup:
♻️ 10 kg of recyclable plastic was collected and sent for responsible recycling
🗑️ 54 kg of total waste was removed from the harbor area
Every cleanup is a step closer to a cleaner, healthier coastline. We’re especially encouraged to see more environmentally conscious partners in Cod Bay joining hands with us — strengthening collective action for long-term sustainability.
This initiative is part of our broader Ocean & Coastal Conservation Program, where we work continuously to reduce marine pollution, support responsible waste management, and protect our precious coastal ecosystems for future generations.
Together, we’re not just cleaning today — we’re caring for tomorrow. 🌍✨

As part of Oceanpick’s CSR — Community & Social Development Initiative, we successfully launched the first in a series of capacity-building programs for the Women’s Society at 5th Mile Post, Trincomalee, in collaboration with Ocean University.
The workshop focused on hands-on training in value-added fish products, raw material identification, sustainable sourcing, and responsible small-scale production. This marks the beginning of a long-term journey toward empowering women and nurturing future SME-level entrepreneurs within the fisheries community. 🌊🐟

A free health camp was conducted on 14th September 2025 at the Oceanpick farm location in Cod Bay, especially dedicated to the fishing community in the area. The initiative aimed to promote the health and well-being of local fishermen and their families by providing them with access to much-needed medical services.
The camp included general health check-ups, consultations, and preventive care awareness sessions. Over 60 participants from the community attended and benefitted from the services provided.
This initiative highlights Oceanpick’s commitment to supporting the surrounding communities while promoting preventive healthcare and social welfare. Our aim has always been to uplift the welfare of the fishing community in the areas surrounding our farms, as they are quintessential to maintaining the overall balance of our ecosystem.
