BASIC (Provider) Course | Kandy | December 2019 22/12/2019

SSCCEM moved out of Colombo to the hill capital Kandy for the first time to hold the international critical care course in high demand the BASIC (Provider) Course on the 10th and 11th of December 2019. It has been one of the best BASIC courses organised by the SSCCEM in the last 10 years and the efforts were well rewarded with a wonderful program setting, a very supportive team of organisers and a very enthusiastic group of participants. Prof Ross Freebairn introduced a new segment to the course this time, a competitive skill based group activity with a point based assessment using a scenario of an inter-hospital transport of a critically ill patient. The team which could take the patient to the other end at the shortest time in the safest set up won the competition.
