BREAK-IN AT NGOUKOU STREET, BANGUI

At 01:45 hrs on 10 May 2025, the Emergency Response Unit in Bangui, Central African Republic, received a phone call from an unknown person. The caller reported a break-in at Ngoukou Street near the central market. A police team was sent immediately and reached the location within 15 minutes. They saw a crowd of people gathered outside a small one-story house with a broken front door.

According to the people there, an armed group entered the house about 30 minutes before the police arrived. The officers went inside and found a man lying on the floor with blood on his leg and shoulder. He was conscious but in a lot of pain. An ambulance came quickly and took him to the hospital. Witnesses said the attackers were wearing masks and carrying guns. They entered the house, stole valuables, and shot the injured man—Mr. Daniel N’Goma, a neighbor who tried to stop them. The criminals ran away in the direction of the Mbali River.

FOLLOW-UP REPORT #1
At 02:20 hrs, the police searched the riverside near Mbali and the nearby park. They found no suspects. A full search of the market area was also done, but no leads were found. At 03:40 hrs, the patrol returned to the station.

FOLLOW-UP REPORT #2
Police interviewed Mr. Simon Dako, 28 years old, who works as an IT technician. He said he rents the house with his cousin Patrick. On 09 May 2025, Simon came home around 19:00 hrs. He was tired, so after dinner, he went to bed at 21:30 hrs. He woke up when he heard loud banging on the front door. Then two masked men entered his room. One man pushed him to the floor and asked for money. Simon said he only had his phone and no cash. The criminals took his phone and a tablet from his desk and left. A few minutes later, he heard gunshots.

FOLLOW-UP REPORT #3
Mr. Patrick Bamba, 27, works as a delivery driver. He said he came home around 23:30 hrs. He was watching a football match on TV. Just after midnight, he heard a loud noise at the door. Before he could react, three masked men came into the hall. One of them, very tall and strong, told the others to check all the rooms. That tall man then came to Patrick and demanded money. Patrick said he only had his wallet, which the man took. As they were leaving, Mr. Daniel N’Goma came from the next house with a stick, trying to block them. The tall man pulled out a gun and shot him. Then they all ran out.

FOLLOW-UP REPORT #4
Ms. Lucie Banga, 40, a nurse living two houses away, told police that she heard gunshots around 01:15 hrs. She looked out of her window and saw three men running away. When she came out, she saw Mr. N’Goma on the ground. She helped stop his bleeding until the ambulance arrived.
