SCU participated in the Yashodara Vidyalaya Commerce Day as the Platinum Sponsor. Students from Royal College Colombo, Ananda College, Nalanda College Colombo, Carey College, Mahanama College, and Visakha Vidyalaya were among the participating schools.
More than 22 schools took part in the Commerce Day competitions and activities. During the event, SCU promoted its foundation programmes, master’s degree opportunities, and foreign degree pathways to students and participants.
A visionary perspective from Prof. Yasas Jayaweera on how the newly launched MSc Artificial Intelligence and MSc Software Engineering and Applications programs will shape the future of SCU, strengthen industry relevance, and create new opportunities for future tech professionals.

SCU successfully conducted another engaging session for students of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo, on AI, VR, and 3D modelling and printing at the SCU AI Lab, Confifi Building.
The session was conducted by Mr. Heshan Gallage, Lecturer at the School of Computing, who shared valuable insights into Artificial Intelligence concepts, Virtual Reality experiences, and 3D printing and modelling technologies, giving students a hands-on exposure to emerging digital innovations.

SCU successfully conducted an Engineering Arduino technology session, and Robotics session for a group of students from St. Joseph's College Colombo at the SCU School of Engineering EE Lab.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Dilanka Wijesena, Lecturer at the School of Engineering, and focused on AI applications in education, basic robotics concepts, and hands-on microcontroller and Arduino-based experiments. Students were also given the opportunity to explore innovative undergraduate projects developed at SCU. The session provided valuable practical exposure to emerging technologies in Engineering, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence.
A valuable conversation with Mr. Adrian Dutch, Pro-Vice Chancellor (International), from University of Bedfordshire, discussing international collaboration and the vision behind the MSc program partnership with SCU.
