We're hiring!

Last Monday, we were able to distribute relief packs to a 161 families in Rodney Street, Borella. A community often overlooked and underserved, they welcomed us warmly into their homes, their lives, and their stories.

The recent floods deeply disrupted their daily lives, forcing families to relocate children and the elderly, pause employment, and redirect funds toward cleaning and sanitizing their homes so they could be made livable once more.

This was our first project of this nature and scale. We began it with the intention to help those already close to us – our own students – and through a week spent budgeting, organizing, buying supplies, managing inventory, packing, and distributing we gained far more than we anticipated – a deeper sense of responsibility to the communities around us.

In addition to Rodney Street, we were able to provide school bags for 39 children in Handala and school supplies for 33 children in Kandana.

We were truly overwhelmed by the support and trust placed in us by our Musicmatters community – those who donated financially, those who gave essential items, and those who gave their time and energy.

The word community gains meaning when we show up for each other.

We have confirmed the number of families in Rodney Street, Borella, to be 161 families in total. Out of them, there are 26 children under the age of 5 years. Our family pack includes the most essential items needed to help them recover from the floods in the coming weeks.

Tuesday to Friday: 10am - 6pm
Saturday: 9am - 6pm

2. Send funds directly to the Musicmatters bank account (details below) with the reference 'DONATIONS' so we can purchase what's needed.

As you know, Musicmatters currently funds the music education of 30 students who would otherwise not be able to access it.

Right now, some of them are struggling due to the adverse weather. These kids are from Rodney Street, Borella and other affected areas, and do not have the same access to essential goods and services that many of us do. We are also extending support to 300 affected families in these communities.
