🌊 Field Visit to Sheraton Kosgoda Turtle Beach Resort 🐢✨

Another remarkable learning experience for the Department of Hospitality and Leisure Management, University of Colombo! 💙

Our students had the wonderful opportunity to visit Sheraton Kosgoda Turtle Beach Resort, a luxury resort under the Marriott International brand. This visit provided valuable exposure to international hospitality standards and offered an in-depth understanding of how a world-class resort operates.

From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us with genuine warmth and professionalism — treating us not just as students, but as guests. That heartfelt welcome truly reflected the essence of hospitality. The visit also gave our students a chance to observe how teamwork, service excellence, and guest engagement come together to create memorable experiences for every visitor. 🌍✨

Our students had the incredible opportunity to visit Cinnamon Life – The City of Dreams, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic hospitality investments under Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts. This visit offered us valuable insights into hotel operations, guest care, and the world-class standards that drive this globally recognized brand.

We were truly inspired by Mrs. Januka Jacob, who shared deep insights about the background and vision behind Cinnamon Life and delivered an empowering message on women in hospitality — reminding us of the strength, confidence, and passion required to succeed in this vibrant industry. 💪✨

Sri Lanka Welcomes 61,767 Tourists in First 10 Days of November

Sri Lanka's tourism industry has seen a robust start to November, with 61,767 tourists arriving in the first 10 days, raising the year-to-date (YTD) total to over 1.68 million.

This strong performance has been led by visitors from India, Russia, and Germany, which have emerged as the top source markets for Sri Lanka this month.

The daily average arrival rate has reached 6,021, indicating a positive trend as the country heads into its peak tourist season.
