🌿 **Evergreen 2026** 🌿

Evergreen 2026 was a meaningful initiative dedicated to wildlife conservation, environmental awareness, and promoting bird-friendly gardening among the youth.

The project was specially catered for young individuals under the age of 19, bringing together over 100 enthusiastic participants for a day of learning, creativity, and inspiration.

The event commenced with an insightful workshop conducted by Prof.Sampath Seneviratne , Professor in Zoology, Department of Zoology and Environment Sciences, University of Colombo .

The session focused on bird-friendly gardening and highlighted the small yet impactful actions young people can take to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future.

During the break, participants had the opportunity to explore and enjoy a variety of attractions, including wildlife garden displays, plant and pot sales, food and beverage stalls, and a lively photo booth experience. 🌱📸

The second segment of the event featured an engaging hands-on activity where participants worked together in groups to build terrariums. Alongside this, an exciting trivia session was conducted, and awards were presented to the best terrarium creators and quiz winners. 🪴✨

The event was further honoured by the presence of the Interact District Council, including the District Interact Representative, Jezon Fernando, and the District Interact Elect, Shavini Weerasinghe. 🌍💚

The Interactors of St. Bridget's Convent Interact Club had a wonderful and friendly visit to Sri Nissanka Maha Vidyalaya,Kurunegala where we shared our uniqueness, knowledge, and wisdom with one another. 🌟📚

It was a valuable opportunity to build new friendships, exchange ideas, and learn from each other’s experiences. 🤝💡 The visit created meaningful connections and unforgettable memories, strengthening the spirit of unity, leadership, and service among the students. 💙✨

Today marked a proud and historic moment at St. Bridget’s Convent, as Book Studio, a well-reputed bookseller, installed a modern book vending machine within the school premises.

St. Bridget’s Convent has become the first girls’ school to introduce such an innovative facility, opening new doors to accessible reading and learning.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Principal, Rev. Sr. Sujani Fernando, together with the Deputy Principals, teachers, representatives from Book Studio and students, who witnessed this milestone with joy and admiration.

This initiative is more than a technological addition—it is a valuable step towards nurturing a culture of reading. It symbolizes the blending of tradition with innovation, ensuring that the love for books continues to thrive in the digital age.
