In this video I will break down all 10 types of TMD diagnosis. It is very important that you understand your diagnosis so that you can proceed with the correct treatment approach. Do you experience facial pain, jaw pain, or TMJ disorder (also known as TMD)? Maybe you have toothaches, a lump in the throat, discomfort around the neck and you can’t figure out where it’s coming from? Well, one thing we must explore is referred pain or myofascial pain from muscles in the area. The key here is that if we hold pressure on the muscle for five seconds or more, it could reveal to us referred pain patterns.. by using the strategy on some of the common culprits in the area, such as the masseter muscle, temporalis muscle, or SCM or sternocleidomastoid muscle. It can give us the information we need to figure out the issues root cause. Some other muscles you may want to consider in the area are the diagastric, medial pterygoid, infrahyoids, suprahypids, suboccipitals or occipitofrontalis. #jawpain #toothache #tmjdisorder #tmd #dentistry #headacherelief #myofascialrelease #musclepain

Abstract: Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) can significantly impact patients’ quality of life, including their voice-related well-being. In this study, the authors investigated factors associated with voice-related quality of life in TMD patients.

The study highlights the importance of considering both physical symptoms and psychological well-being when assessing voice-related quality of life in TMD patients. Clinicians should address pain management, psychological support, and TMD symptom control to improve patients’ overall well-being.
