Another Moonhack in Sri Lanka!

Located about 128 km from WSO2, the main venue of the Moonhack 2025 Colombo event, Zahira College Gampola proudly became the first school in the Kandy District to host its very own Moonhack!

Nestled in a picturesque mountain region (3,566 ft above sea level), the school provided a beautiful backdrop for an inspiring day of coding and creativity.

Wisecovery was delighted to conduct this event — reaching out to bright, enthusiastic students who are often overlooked due to limited opportunities. It was especially exciting to see so many girls participating, breaking the myth that technology is a boys-only affair!

The event was a great success, and with initiatives like these, Wisecovery remains committed to making technology and learning accessible to all. 🚀

Wisecovery Moonhack 2025 was a Birthday with a Blast!

With 65 participants (23 Scratchers and 42 Pythoneers) it was a full house kids coding hackathon of fun and learning.

Sanal Malimage, one of Wisecovery's best Scratchers connected all the way from Aukland, New Zealand to demo his Birthday Blast Off! project. This year's Birthday Blast Off starter project featured Sanadhi Watapotha voice-over for Sinhala Language count-down. Sanadhi is a another brilliant Wisecovery coder from Essex, UK. These were great inspirations for the participating moonhackers.

None were left out. Young attendees enjoyed colouring, word search and connecting dots puzzles while the older ones were busy hacking the moon with various projects and celebrating Moonhack's 10th birthday.

Huge Thank You for Kaye North at for spearheading this event and WSO2 for the amazing venue and the admin staff for their tremendous support. Also our live-wire facilitators (Amna Yakeen, Krish, and Seth) and volunteers for making this event a truly memorable ones. And the teachers and parents who accompanied the participants despite the wet weather.
