Calibre Reading Fiesta 2025 was organised with the aim of nurturing and strengthening our students’ love for reading. The programme was held on 7 November 2025 at the school premises.

The Reading Fiesta was a celebration of stories that leapt out of books and onto the stage. Our students brought to life timeless stories such as Snow White, Cinderella, Goldilocks, Rapunzel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlotte’s Web, and Alice in Wonderland. Through these performances, stories were not only read but experienced.

We are proud of our students for their remarkable and wholesome performances, and we believe the programme reminded them that reading is not merely a habit, but an adventure waiting to unfold.

Building English Confidence with Calibre English Foundation

We are proud to introduce Calibre English Foundation (CEF), an initiative of Calibre School. We launched this exciting new chapter with the Spoken English Examination (Foundation Level), a programme created to help young learners build confidence and express themselves with clarity and joy.

Students from Calibre School as well as external candidates took part in the examination, showcasing their speaking skills with enthusiasm and courage. An Awarding Ceremony followed, celebrating the effort, progress, and achievements of every child.

The delightful performances by Calibre School students made the event even livelier. It was a memorable celebration of learning, confidence, and creativity, and a true reflection of what CEF is all about.

Around the World with Calibre Kids

From “Ayubowan” in Sri Lanka to “Aloha” in Hawaii, our little travellers took flight across continents. The Nursery and Grade 1 concert of Calibre School was held on 7th August 2025 at the Town Hall, Avissawella, under the delightful theme “Around the World.”

The youngest of our learners, showcasing their talents in this journey of music and dance, was truly heartwarming. They danced and sang their hearts out with confidence that could liven up any stage. We couldn’t be prouder of our young Calibre performers who made the world their own in that moment.

Kudos to our dedicated team for pulling off one of the finest concerts in Calibre’s history. They truly outdid themselves. Behind the scenes, there is a great deal that goes into bringing something like this to life.

And just like that, our tiny travellers completed their first flight around the world with no passports needed, only smiles, dreams, and endless joy.

The final day of our Festival of Performing Arts was all about rhythm, energy, and spectacular performances. It was the perfect way to end this festival on a high note!

From graceful traditional dances to energetic contemporary performances, our students took the stage with confidence and flair, and yes, many truly stole the spotlight. Their dedication and passion for the performing arts were more evident than ever. Every beat, every move, and every smile stood as a testament to that.

The hall was filled with cheers, applause, and pride as parents, teachers, and friends watched our young performers shine. The day wasn’t just about talent; it was also about teamwork, confidence, and joy.

As the curtains closed on this year’s Festival of Performing Arts, we couldn’t be prouder of our students. You inspired us, entertained us, and reminded us of the magnificence of expression through art.

Festival of Performing Arts: Day 1 - Singing & Verse Speaking Showcase

The Calibre School Festival of Performing Arts sets the stage for students to showcase and celebrate their diverse talents. From singing and dancing to public speaking, storytelling, verse speaking, news reading, and announcing, every performance reflects the creativity, confidence, and passion of Calibre students.

The festival began on the 31st of August, dedicated primarily to showcasing and recognising the singing talents of our students. Alongside the singers, we also had our verse-speaking performers, who brought rhythm, expression, and emotion to the stage. The energy, excitement, and anticipation were palpable as students prepared to take the stage. From the early morning, the stage came alive with voices ranging from our youngest first graders to our confident tenth graders. Each performance carried its own flavour. There were soulful ballads and upbeat pop, as well as a little R&B and more. What was truly remarkable and inspiring was the courage each student showed in taking the stage.

The festival was not only about performances, but about making memories, building confidence, and inspiring one another. We are proud of every performer who stepped on the stage. Yes, you lit up the festival with your talent and courage. To all our performers, we extend our heartfelt congratulations. We believe you will go on to achieve great things out there.
