ඒ වගේම තමා 4th year එකේදි ඔයාලව මාස 6ක industrial training එකකට යොමු කරනවා. industry එකේ වැඩකරල ගන්න experience එක ඉතාම වැදගත් වෙනවා ඉදිරියෙදි ජොබ් එකකට යන්නත්.

ඊළඟට ඔයාල අහන ප්‍රශ්නය තමා මේ උපාධි පාඨමාලාව හරහා ලබාගන්න පුළුවන් රැකියා අවස්ථා මොනවද කියල. ලංකාව ඇතුලෙ IT industry එකේ තියෙන ඕනෑම job එකකට apply කරන්න කිසිදු බාධාවක් නෑ. ඒ වගේම ඔයාල කරන specialization pathway එකට අදාලව ලංකාවේ හෝ පිටරට තියෙන job එකකට පහසුවෙන්ම සම්බන්ධ වෙන්න පුළුවන්.

academic වැඩ වලට අමතරව අපේ association එක - Computer Science Students' Association - University of Kelaniya එක හරහා industry එකේ අය සම්බන්ධ කරගෙන online sessions, webinars, workshops, ideathons පවත්වනවා. ඒ හරහා ලොකු අත්දැකීමක් ලබාගන්න පුළුවන්. For those of you who have successfully passed the Advanced Level Examination in Physical stream and are hoping to enter the University, we are going to inform you about the BSc (Hons) in Computer Science degree offered by the Faculty of Computer and Technology of the University of Kelaniya, a faculty that started in 2015 and shows the way to many jobs in the computer field.

An honors degree in computer science is awarded upon the completion of the four-year degree program. In addition to our university, the universities of Colombo, Ruhuna, and Jaffna in Sri Lanka also offer degrees in computer science. But the speciality of our course is awarding a four-year special degree to all those who enroll. The degree course is designed according to the rules and regulations of IEEE (Institution of Electronics and Electrical Engineers) and ACM (Association for Computer Machinery) international organizations. Therefore, at the end of our course, you can apply for a job in Sri Lanka or abroad without fear. Currently, this degree course is run with the main departments of the Department of Applied Computing, Department of Computer Systems Engineering, and Department of Software Engineering.

In terms of course content, programming, web development, and mobile application development are taught in the first two years, along with all the required modules for a computer science degree. In the third and fourth years, you have to study according to the pathway you choose.

Currently, no public or private university offers such a wide range of pathways. This comprehensive program is available exclusively through the Computer Science Department at the University of Kelaniya.

The standard pathway, as mentioned in the fourth item above, is the four-year computer science honors degree course. For those who do not wish to pursue specialized pathways, they can opt for the standard pathway.

In the fourth year, students will participate in a six-month industrial training program. The experience gained from working in the industry is crucial for securing employment in the future.

The next question you ask is what job opportunities can be obtained through this degree course. There is no obstacle to apply for any job in the IT industry in Sri Lanka. Also, depending on your specialization pathway, you can easily join a job in Sri Lanka or abroad.

Beyond academic pursuits, our association, the Computer Science Students' Association at the University of Kelaniya, organizes various virtual and in-person sessions, webinars, workshops, and competitions such as ideathons. In addition to academic work, you can join our association and actively participate in its activities.
