Grade 9 Learners Explore Heart Dissection in the Lab

This week, our Grade 9 learners had an exciting hands-on experience in the science lab as they explored the anatomy of the heart through dissection. Guided by their teacher, the students examined the structure of a real heart, identifying key components such as the atria, ventricles, valves, and major blood vessels.

This practical session allowed learners to deepen their understanding of how the heart functions, reinforcing concepts studied in their biology lessons. Through careful observation and teamwork, they gained valuable insights into the circulatory system, making connections between theory and real-life anatomy.

Such interactive learning experiences help foster curiosity and scientific inquiry, preparing students for more advanced studies in the field of life sciences. It was a fascinating and educational session, leaving students eager for more laboratory explorations in the future!

TCS Delegates Attend the Third MUN at LAU Byblos Campus

We are proud to announce that a delegation from Tyre Community School (TCS) participated in the Third Model United Nations (MUN) Conference held at the Lebanese American University (LAU) Byblos Campus. This prestigious event brought together students from across the region to engage in diplomatic discussions, debate pressing global issues, and develop leadership skills.

Our delegates represented TCS with excellence, demonstrating strong critical thinking, public speaking, and negotiation abilities. They actively engaged in committee sessions, collaborated with peers from different schools, and contributed insightful perspectives on international affairs.

Participating in MUN provides our students with a unique opportunity to enhance their understanding of diplomacy, global challenges, and the importance of teamwork in problem-solving. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and performance, and we look forward to future MUN conferences where they can continue to excel.

Congratulations to our TCS delegates for their hard work and commitment!

Fifth Grade Science Experiment: Investigating Plant Respiration at Night

The fifth-grade students at Tyre Community School recently conducted an exciting science experiment to determine whether plants release carbon dioxide and absorb oxygen at night. This experiment was part of their study on plant respiration and photosynthesis.

To carry out the experiment, the students placed a healthy potted plant inside a sealed transparent container in the evening. They also placed a small dish of limewater inside the container, as limewater turns cloudy in the presence of carbon dioxide. Additionally, they set up a second container without a plant as a control.
