Photo recap of the workshop “AI for Engineers: Tools, Applications, and Opportunities.” The CNF-CEF of Tripoli – AUF, in collaboration with Beirut Arab University – Tripoli Campus, organized this practical training to equip engineers with essential skills in artificial intelligence and advanced digital tools. The workshop explored real applications of AI in design, analysis, optimization, and system automation, helping participants address technological and industrial challenges in an innovative and responsible way. The sessions were delivered on February 13 and 16, 2026, at BAU – Tripoli Campus. Special thanks to AUF and to Dr. Ziad Naja, Head of CNF-CEF of Tripoli, for their valuable support and collaboration in making this event a success.

A great visit with Beirut Arab University professors and students, organized by the ASCE Student Chapter, to the Cimenterie Nationale (Al Sabeh Cement) plant.

The day kicked off with an in-depth technical presentation on the complexities of cement manufacturing, focusing specifically on the industry’s vital shift toward environmentally friendly solutions and sustainable industrial practices.

Following the briefing, we went on an extensive on-site tour of the plant, where we saw its various components and massive machinery. We concluded the experience at the quarry, which gave us a true sense of the immense engineering scale and logistics involved in such a major operation.

Grateful to the team at Cimenterie Nationale for hosting us and providing our future engineers with such valuable real-world insights!

Title: IEEE Student and Young Professionals Lebanon Congress (SYPLC’25) at BAU–Tripoli

The IEEE BAU–Tripoli Student Branch at the Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with IEEE Young Professionals Lebanon, successfully organized the SYPLC’25 Congress at BAU–Tripoli. As Lebanon’s largest event for engineering students and young professionals, it gathered participants from eight universities for a full day of learning and networking.

The congress brought together students from several universities, including AUT, BAU, CityU, IUL, LU, RHU, UoB, and ULS, creating a vibrant multi-institutional environment for learning and collaboration. The program included an opening ceremony, a keynote on zero-waste innovation, a panel on engineering impact, two technical workshops, YP round tables, and a debate on innovation and privacy. The event supported students’ transition to professional life by offering real-world insights and career guidance. SYPLC’25 concluded with highly positive feedback and strengthened collaboration between BAU and IEEE Lebanon.
