Ms. Tala Kaddoura, a PhD student in biomedical sciences at AUB-FM, was selected among 636 young scientists worldwide to attend the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, where Nobel Laureates and outstanding young scientists from around the world meet for lectures, panel discussions, and informal exchanges.
Working under the supervision of Dr. Assaad Eid and Dr. Wassim Abou-Kheir, Kaddoura's research develops 3D kidney models to better understand diabetic kidney disease and advance personalized treatment approaches.
"Attending the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting was truly inspiring," she said. "Hearing the personal stories of Nobel Laureates and having the opportunity to speak to them reinforced my belief that impactful science is driven by curiosity and perseverance. I returned from the meeting with fresh perspectives and renewed motivation to further develop my research, with the goal of contributing to scientific advancement and creating a positive impact within the Lebanese and international scientific communities."
