Community Health Workers in Employment

Community Health Workers (CHWs) bridge the gap between communities and healthcare. They educate, inform, and raise awareness of health issues and initiatives.

LEBANurse trainees have various work prospects, as CHWs are in growing demand at clinics, NGOs, and local primary healthcare centers in Lebanon and beyond.

Training community health workers.

Primary health care nurses are doing more than ever. Their expanding responsibilities can lead to physical and emotional strain.

Assistant nurses trained by the LEBANurse programme can serve as community health workers, helping to distribute the workload more effectively by supporting health education, patient follow-up, and community outreach—allowing nurses to focus on complex clinical care.

🌟 Day 6 – The Final Day of our Nursing Summer Camp! 🩺💙

We wrapped up an incredible week with immersive clinical scenarios, where participants explored the management of childbirth, trauma, and seizures. They also attended an engaging session on nursing ethics, reinforcing the values and responsibilities that define the profession.

The day concluded with a special closing ceremony, where we celebrated the winners of the health awareness campaign and reflected on an unforgettable week of learning, growth, and friendship. Our nursing students also showcased their amazing talents, making the celebration even more memorable.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year's Nursing Summer Camp a truly inspiring experience. We can't wait to welcome the next generation of future nurses!

🌟 Day 5 of our Nursing Summer Camp! 🩺💙

Participants showcased their creativity and knowledge by presenting their health awareness campaign projects. They also rotated through hands-on stations covering injections, glucose monitoring, blood donation, and wound care, followed by fun and competitive games that encouraged teamwork and collaboration.

🌟 Day 4 of our Nursing Summer Camp! 🩺💙

Another enriching day of learning as participants continued their hospital rotation and visited the Medical DTS Laboratories. They also attended sessions on healthy relationships and substance use awareness, explored AUB admissions, applications, and scholarship opportunities, and concluded the day with a creative debriefing session through painting and planting, encouraging reflection, teamwork, and well-being.

The importance of assistant nurses❗

Assistant nurses are at the forefront of patient care. In many medical facilities and especially in long-term care, they have the most direct contact with patients.

The demand for well-trained assistant nurses is increasing globally. Training assistant nurses is integral for the survival of our healthcare systems.

🌟 Day 3 of our Nursing Summer Camp! 🩺💙

Day 3 gave participants a closer look at the world of healthcare through a hospital rotation at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, and a visit to the Medical Research Laboratories. They also explored the importance of healthy relationships and substance use awareness, learned about AUB admissions, applications, and scholarship opportunities, and wrapped up the day with an engaging ergonomics session, Move Smart... Stay Strong, focused on promoting safe movement and preventing injuries.

Another exciting day of discovery, learning, and inspiration for our future nurses!

🎓 As part of our Nursing Summer Camp, participants attended an informative orientation session led by our Student Services Officer Mrs. Mira Abdallah.

The session provided prospective students with valuable insights into the application process, admission requirements, important deadlines, and the scholarships and financial aid opportunities available to support their nursing journey at the AUB Hariri School of Nursing.

The session was followed by a short presentation by our student, Mrs. Serine Dayya, who introduced participants to student life at AUB, highlighting the University's clubs and organizations, with a special focus on the Nursing Student Society (NSS) at the Hariri School of Nursing.

We hope these sessions gave participants a better understanding of both the academic journey and the vibrant student experience at AUB.
