On July 31st, 2026, Alsama reached its most important milestone yet: our first graduation!

Congratulations to our students, who in the space of just six short years have overcome illiteracy and war. They have now officially completed secondary education – something only 3% of Syrian refugees in Lebanon are able to do.

This incredible moment of achievement was celebrated in Shatila refugee camp, Beirut with a formal ceremony, and of course, a dance party.

Our Head students, Wissal and Loauy, gave amazing speeches describing their journeys at Alsama. Swipe to listen!

When the ball hits the bat, the game comes alive. 🏏

This weekend, our players from Bekaa, Shatila, and Bourj came together for a championship full of excitement, teamwork, and passion for the game.

A big congratulations to our Bekaa players for achieving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! But the biggest win was seeing everyone play together, support each other, and show the true spirit of cricket.

As 12-year-old Zyad said: “Winning or losing isn't what's most important. What's important is playing well and showing good sportsmanship.”

When words aren't enough, art speaks.🎨

At Alsama, we believe creativity is a language of its own, giving students the freedom to express their ideas, emotions, and experiences in ways words sometimes can't.

This week, our Shatila 1 and Shatila 2 students brought that to life at our art exhibition. Given complete creative freedom, they worked with clay, recycled bottles, collage, and acrylic paint to create pieces that reflected their own ideas and perspectives.

One student, Fdoaa, created a painting inspired by her friends who use Braille. As she shared:
"People with visual impairments are just like us. They use Braille to read and learn, and they deserve to live like everyone else."

Every artwork offered a different perspective, reminding us that creativity can inspire empathy and help us see the world through someone else's eyes.

Our second Science Fair just wrapped up, and our students blew us away, once again.🤩🎉

In such a short time of learning, our students achieved something extraordinary, standing on stage and giving it their absolute best.

Guided by music teachers Ward, Zien, and Khalid, and directed by Ali, our students performed with so much heart, singing and playing with real emotion that filled the whole room.

We could not be prouder of our students. 🤩
