As of May, True Colour is no longer downtown, but relocated to inside Houey Hong Vocational Training Centre ホアイホン職業訓練センター, in Ban Houey Hong.
For classes Houey Hong will still be picking up in this location, at the bus stop outside Wat Mixay.

Silk sinhs and scarves from Houey Hong Vocational Training Center for Women are handdyed with natural colors and handwoven on sight with only the best quality of materials. Silk is an ideal fiber for natural dyes because of the intense, deep saturation of colors you can achieve. But natural dyes are very particular and this process is not easy! Thin, fine strands of silk also allow for the weavers to create intricate patterns which take a great deal of vision and focus. These women are true masters of their craft!

Want to know what is the Fairtrade Premium that enables our members to implement these kind of projects ?

"In addition to the price paid for the product, there is an additional sum of money, called the Fairtrade Premium, that farmers receive for products sold on Fairtrade terms. This money goes into a communal fund for workers and farmers to use to improve their social, economic and environmental conditions.

The use of this additional income is decided upon democratically by producers within the farmers’ organization, or by a workers' committee on a plantation. The Premium is invested in education and healthcare, farm improvements to increase yield and quality, or processing facilities to increase income.

As many projects funded by the Premium are communal, the broader community, outside the producer organization often benefits from Fairtrade."
