Hello friends! We have started our second wave of recruitment! Friends of WOC, share this with your peers 🙂

Looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend your winter break? Look no further! We are visiting Laos from 11 to 28 December, and the village we will be visiting is in Kasi District. We will be teaching, constructing facilities, sharing our cultures, as well as visiting some famous landmarks in Laos!

Waves of Change '19 is a Youth Expedition Project (YEP) Overseas Community Involvement Programme under NUS, and this year would be the 5th instalment of a long-term series of projects and expeditions with the rural communities in Laos. For our past expeditions in Laos, we have taught various lessons and helped maintain the infrastructure of the village we visited. This year we will work towards furthering education, possible infrastructural work and cultural exchange in the community we aid.

Sabaidi :) (Hello in Lao)

After our fruitful experience in Tan Piao Village, we headed to Vang Vieng City for our rest & recreational activities!

We conquered half (or at least I hope so) a TALL mountain, navigated through rock and gravel, scaled up steep slopes, and all in all, had a great hiking journey!

Despite exhausting moments where the winding mountain paths seemed to never end, everyone powered through the climb and persevered to the finish point. :D

And of course, we had to treat ourselves with scrumptious meals after all that exercise! (most of the food were gone before we could even take photos oops)

With that, we conclude our WOC'17! Thank you everyone who have supported us in one way or another, and we hope to see you again next year for more exciting adventures!

Thank you so much for everything, Tan Piao Village! You have taught us that simple joys are the way to happiness, and we have truly been blessed with the beautiful people and scenery we have encountered.
