"AM THEIR VOICE"
Today, I was reminded once again that behind every immigration file is a human life.

Jhon went to Immigration before his visa expired to apply for an extension.

However, he was told that he could not be assisted without a reservation,
and the officer scheduled him for a date after his visa had already expired.

When he returned on the appointed day, he was told that he was now staying illegally in Korea.

He was fined 3,000,000 KRW and ordered to leave the country.

That day, I decided to stand beside him.

From 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., we explained the facts again and again.

At first, no one wanted to listen.

They insisted there was no proof that Jhon had visited Immigration before his visa expired.

Then I asked for one simple thing:

"Please check the security camera footage."

I was not asking for special treatment.

I was only asking for a fair decision based on the truth.

In the end, the fine was canceled, the departure order was withdrawn, and Jhon received a three-month visa extension.

As we were leaving, an immigration officer said something I will never forget:

"If you had been here that day, none of this would have happened.

Thank you for coming today."

Those words were never about me.

They were a reminder that vulnerable people sometimes need someone who can speak for them when they cannot make their voices heard.
