Homecoming Game & Post Game Social
📅 Friday, January 16, 2026
🕒 First Tip Off 3:45 PM
📍 SFS Gym
Come cheer on the Varsity Girls and Boys teams as they take on Chadwick next week! Homecoming is one of our most beloved traditions, and we’re excited to welcome you back to campus for an afternoon of school spirit and celebration.
⛹️♀️ Varsity Girls vs. Chadwick International @ 3:45 PM
⛹️♂️ Varsity Boys vs. Chadwick International @ 5:15 PM
After the games, we hope the fun will continue off-campus with food, drinks, and time to catch up with friends. But this year, we’re trying something new:
Instead of hosting a post-game gathering, we’re challenging alumni to host US.
Grab a group of friends, pick a spot, and invite the SFS alumni team to join you after the game—we’ll come by and treat your group to a round of drinks. While we can’t promise to attend every gathering, we’re excited to see alumni reconnect and enjoy the post-game festivities together.

Happy New Year, SFS Alumni!
Thank you to everyone who joined us in London last week for such a special evening. What began as a simple effort to gauge interest in a London get-together quickly turned into a joyful gathering, and the energy in the room was a powerful reminder of how strong and connected our alumni community remains—no matter where we are in the world.
From shared stories to plenty of laughter, the night highlighted just how meaningful it is to come together. We’re deeply grateful for the time spent reconnecting and are excited by the momentum this gathering created as we look ahead to more opportunities to bring our alumni community together again!

🎄 As 2025 comes to a close, we’re sending warm Christmas and holiday wishes to our SFS alumni around the world. Wherever this season finds you, we hope it brings moments of rest, reflection, and connection.
It’s been a meaningful year on campus—full of lively weekends and evenings of games, tournaments, rehearsals, and performances, plenty of celebrations and hard-earned wins, and the joy of welcoming more than 100 alumni back to SFS since August. We’re grateful to stay connected to the alumni who continue to shape and strengthen our community.
We’re also looking ahead with excitement as we prepare to gather with alumni in London, Hong Kong, Seoul, and the West Coast in the months ahead. Wishing you a Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season, and a Happy New Year. We can’t wait to see you soon! ❤️
The December 2025 Alumni Newsletter was sent last Friday. If it’s not in your inbox, please let us know at [email protected].

Holiday Gathering, Seoul ❤️
Last night was a simple reminder of how naturally the SFS community comes back together.
The room was filled with alumni based here in Seoul, joined by others visiting for the holidays or passing through from Chicago, New York, London, Singapore, Toronto, Seattle, Dallas, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Malibu, Princeton, Cambridge, Baltimore, Las Vegas—and even Germany and Brazil. For a few hours, all paths crossed in the same room.
It was a truly cross-generational night, with alumni spanning the Classes of 1987 through 2025, and lots of laughter, catching up, and familiar SFS energy filling the space.
We also had fun recognizing alumni who showed up in memorable ways—from the first to RSVP, to our youngest alum (Class of 2025), to a true SFS lifer (15 years at SFS), and a pair of alums who have fully embraced the “say yes” spirit of alumni life. (And yes, Class of 2021 showed up strong and made it feel like their own class reunion!)
With so many engaged alumni in the room, it’s clear this community continues to grow because of the people who keep showing up, staying connected, and giving back. A special thank you to our Alumni Committee members who joined us last night: Ron Chang, Joseph Hong, Alex Paik, and Nick Park.
Wherever you joined us from, thank you for spending part of your holiday season with us. It meant a lot.

🏀 Alumni Run: Back on the Court for a Winter Break Tradition
Held on the last day of school before winter break, the Alumni Run brings together former SFS basketball players and current Varsity athletes for an open gym that’s equal parts reunion and time back on the court. With so many alumni joining us this year, Paul Rader ’04 (Director of Activities) organized a full game—still friendly, but definitely competitive.
Down the stretch, the Blue team made a late push: a seven-point game with 3:44 left, cut quickly to a two-possession margin, then to just two points with 1:36 remaining. After leading comfortably for much of the game, the White team met the late push with friendly fierceness and closed out the game strong.
More than the score, it was special to watch alumni from the Classes of 2004 through 2025 share the court with our current players, competing hard, laughing harder, and reminding us why this tradition means so much.
Thank you to all the alumni who returned home and made this year’s Alumni Run one to remember.
Paul Rader ‘04, Harry Creech ‘05, Jay Chen ‘07, Kevin Benger ‘11, Heidi Stallings Roper ‘12, David Pang ‘16, Jackie Bharwaney ‘17, David Jeon ‘20, Simon Kim ‘20, Daniel Sohn ‘20, Ethan Lee ‘21, Jonathan Lee ‘21, Kyle Sohn ‘21, Davis Kil ‘23, Jayden Lee ‘24, Ian Chang ‘25, and Kevin Shim ‘25

We were thrilled to welcome back alumna Kristina Rader Erny ‘02 for two inspiring days on campus!
A third-culture poet and visual artist who grew up in Korea, Kristina is the author of Elijah Fed by Ravens and Put a Comma in Front of a Person. Her work often explores themes of third-culture identity, alienation, and growing up in South Korea.
From leading poetry lessons in MS Language & Literature classes, to guiding a workshop with teachers, to speaking with BS Year 1 students about the life of a poet, Kristina brought words to life in every corner of our community.
In a special full-circle moment, Kristina returned to the very same grade 6 classroom where she first fell in love with poetry—this time as the teacher. Even more meaningful, one of her nephews was among the students in that lesson.
Her visit concluded with a special poetry reading in the HS Library, where she shared selections from both published and unpublished works.
A huge thank you to our MS team for making this meaningful visit possible!
