젠더 평등과 화해(Gender Equity & Reconciliation International, 이하 GERI)는 성차별주의와 가부장제가 남성과 여성, 모든 젠더의 삷에 고통을 준다는 사실을 자각하고, 대립과 비난이 아닌, 서로의 고통을 공감적 태도로 이해하는 경험을 통해 다른 성별에 대한 적대감을 해소하고 성평등을 향한 행동 변화에 연대할 수 있는 토대를 만들고자 하는 활동입니다.

💙젠더공감 북클럽은 ‘젠더 평등과 화해’ 작업의 발생 동기와 본질, 원리, 젠더를 둘러싼 사회적/구조적 영향, 워크샵의 실제 플로우와 사례들을 소개하는 책 《젠더의 아름다움(Divine Duality, 정하린·이순호 번역, 2022, yeondoo 출판사 발행)》을 바탕으로 하는 모임입니다.

🙋‍♀️젠더공감 북클럽은 책모임이지만, 단순히 지식이나 그럴듯한 슬로건을 쌓는 모임은 지양하고자 합니다.

🙆‍♀️이 모임을 진행하는 이순호, 이강혜는 사트야나 인스티튜트에서 진행하는 GERI 퍼실리테이터 과정을 졸업하였으며, 우리가 GERI 워크샵과 트레이닝에서 경험한 것들 중 적절한 활동을 선정해 북클럽 프로그램에 결합함으로써 참가자들에게 직접 따뜻한 증인이 되고, 따뜻한 목격을 받는 경험을 제공하고자 노력하고 있습니다.

우리는 여러분을 자신들 경험의 피해자가 아니라 목격자로서, 그리고 같은 경험을 했지만 여건 상 목소리를 낼 수 없었던 다른 사람들을 위한 증인으로서 이 자리에 초대하고자 합니다.

We are honored and excited to announce that GERI facilitators Harin Jeong, Soonho Lee, and KangHei Lee will be presenting at the 18th Sakyadhita International Conference on Buddhist Women in Seoul, South Korea happening this weekend.

Come join us on 25 June, 1pm at the venue and be a part of this meaningful journey.

This is GERI's second time presenting at the Sakyadhita International Conference. The GERI process was first introduced to the Sakyadhita Conference in a workshop at the 2019 conference in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. Over the past 30 years, GERI has been widely implemented in diverse religious communities, including the Sweetwater Zen Buddhist Center in San Diego, CA; South African Council of Churches; Interfaith Community Sanctuary in Seattle, WA; the Parliament of the World's Religions, and beyond!

We are thrilled that Harin, Soonho, and Kanghei will be sharing and bringing the GERI work to both Korean and English speaking audiences at this important conference!

This workshop will include an introduction and overview of the GERI process and will lead participants through a practical experience of the GERI methodology.

💝GERI (Gender Equity and Reconciliation International)는 여성과 남성, 그리고 모든 젠더 정체성과 젠더 표현을 가진 사람들이 함께 만나, 각자의 젠더 정체성을 가지고 살아온 과거의 상처를 치유하는 동시에, 젠더 간 이해와 균형, 조화로운 미래를 함께 만들기 위해 협력하는 비영리 국제 기구입니다.

🌈GERI KOREA가 출범하며 올해 11월에 한국에서의 첫 정식 3일 워크숍을 준비하고 있습니다.

고통의 경쟁이 아닌 고통의 연대로 만나 새로운 장이 펼쳐질 것을 기대합니다.

🙏호주에서 GERI 공인트레이너이자 심리상담자인 William & Esther Diplock (사진 2)와 한국의 GERI 퍼실리테이터인 정하린, 이순호, 이강혜가 공동 진행할 예정입니다. (주로 한국어로 진행됩니다)

So as Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive and actually it warms the heart to give, there is a great joy in generosity. It doesn’t just mean, generosity doesn’t just mean giving things or giving money, it also means giving time, giving care, giving ourselves. So again that is based on non-attachment, “Oh you know I don’t have time to listen to you, I don’t have time to care for you.” And so forth, this sense of holding on to our own space so again it’s a matter of letting go, letting go. In fact if there was one mantra in Buddhism I would say it’s not "om mani peme hung" - it’s "letting go, letting go, om letting go hum peh".
