Tourism Industry Data Analytics Lab (TIDAL),
Sejong University
December 8-12, 2025
Tourism Industry Data Analytics Lab (TIDAL), Sejong University will be organizing data analytics training session between December 8th and 12th, 2025 at Gwanggaeto-Gwan, Sejong University, Seoul Korea. The training program this year is specially designed for the faculty and members of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, a key partner of TIDAL and Sejong University.
The objective of the training is to equip the trainees with the necessary skills related to planning, designing, and collecting data, data analysis and inference, and visualization techniques necessary for conducting and publishing academic research. The 5-day training will cover a range of data analytics topics including qualitative data, structured/survey data, secondary data, and application of big data, as well as AI for academic research and are as follows:
- Lecture [Source and use of secondary data for research] and workshop on secondary data

- Lecture [Application of big data and artificial intelligence] and workshop on AI
by Dr.. Ian Sutherland, Assistant Professor, Sogang University
- Lecture [Using qualitative and unstructured data] and workshop on qualitative data
by Dr. Seweryn Zielinski, Associate Professor, Sejong University
- Lecture [Collecting and analyzing survey data] and workshop on survey data
by Dr. Kiattipoom Kiatkawsin, Associate Professor, Singapore Institute of Technology
About Tourism Industry Data Analytics Lab (TIDAL) at Sejong University
The Tourism Industry Data Analytics Lab (TIDAL) at Sejong University was founded as a Research Center of Sejong University in 2017. TIDAL specializes in collection, analysis, and inference of quantitative/qualitative, primary/secondary, structured/unstructured, and small/big data related to the tourism industry and assists the industry and policymakers with customized data analytics that offer insight to the industry and market trends. TIDAL members also publish regularly in peer-reviewed journals in hospitality and tourism management.
