This may seem to be an easy question that can be answered, but the world has become a place where superficial answers will no longer take you to the next level. The globe has changed from a 'TELL ME' world to a 'SHOW ME' mentality. Can you portray a leadership that people will listen to and follow? At ICON, English is used as a tool to learn leadership skills necessary to achieve success in life.
Becoming a leader means learning from great leaders and using their experiences to develop your own leadership skills. Confidence, creativity, delivery and intelligence are the characteristics that are seen and learned at ICON. Students are put into an atmosphere where individual voice is nurtured and heard. (Learning from the great minds of story tellers and the world's great icons allows our students to develop a voice that commands respect and following.) By reading great literature, students are exposed to the minds and ideas that formulate the world's great leaders. We believe in the idea that "Leaders are made, not born, and made more by themselves than by any external means. Second, that no leader sets out to be a leader per se, but rather to express himself freely and fully." All the facets of language are taught and students are given guidance to develop their own strengths and passions.
