Celebrating Excellence at the 2026 Honor Society Induction

We proudly celebrated our students at the 2026 Honor Society Induction Ceremony, recognizing their outstanding achievements in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

This meaningful evening honored our newest members across a wide range of academic disciplines, highlighting the dedication and commitment that define our SJA Jeju community. It was especially significant as we welcomed students into the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Computer Science Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and Mu Alpha Theta, along with the introduction of our newest chapters, the English Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, celebrating their founding members.

We were also honored to have Mr. Dongseok Choi, former main anchor of KBS News 9 and Head of Operations at the KBS Announcers’ Office, join us as our guest speaker. His presence added further inspiration to an already memorable evening.

Surrounded by families, teachers, and peers, the ceremony reflected not only individual achievement but also the strong sense of community and support behind each student’s journey.

Congratulations to all of our inductees on this well deserved recognition.

Go Hilltoppers!

More than just a game, it was a meaningful opportunity to build connections, strengthen our community, and share the spirit of SJA Jeju together.

Vibrant Start to the 2026 Festival of the Arts

Our 2026 Festival of the Arts officially began yesterday, and the first day set an inspiring tone for the week ahead.

Centered around this year’s dance theme, the day was filled with energy, creativity, and movement.

Students explored a wide range of artistic expression, from dynamic sketches of dancers to bold and colorful pieces that captured the spirit and emotion of performance.

Today, our music performances are underway, and we warmly invite our community to enjoy the full lineup of performances through April 9, along with the art exhibitions on display.

It has been a strong and spirited start, reflecting the creativity and enthusiasm of our students and setting the stage for a week of collaboration, expression, and celebration of the arts.

Spring Has Arrived on Campus

With cherry blossoms in full bloom and warm sunlight filling our campus, spring has truly arrived at SJA Jeju.

As the season changes, learning spaces extend beyond the classroom, with students enjoying lessons outdoors under the gentle spring sun.

Alongside our authentic American curriculum, we place strong value on Korean language learning.

While students engage daily in an English speaking environment and experience an American style education, they also stay closely connected to Korean language and literature.

Through this balance, our students grow within a rich and diverse cultural environment, learning to appreciate both global perspectives and their own cultural roots.

Celebrating Creativity at the 2026 Festival of the Arts

From April 6 to April 9, SJA Jeju will come alive with our annual Festival of the Arts, a four day celebration of student creativity across music, dance, visual arts, drama, and filmmaking.

With multiple performance times each day and art displays in the PAC lobby, families are invited to experience and celebrate the artistic journey of our students in ways that are both engaging and inspiring.

This year, we also welcomed our Artist in Residence, Shin Ye Rin, who worked closely with students across all grades. Her work centers on the idea of community and reflects the same values we strive to nurture at SJA Jeju as one of our three guiding pillars.

More than a series of performances, the Festival of the Arts is a reflection of our belief that the arts are an essential part of a well rounded education, bringing our community together through creativity, collaboration, and shared experiences.

We look forward to celebrating the arts together and sharing this special week with our families.

A Wonderful Debut for Seussical Kids 🎭

Our Elementary School musical production of Seussical Kids has officially kicked-off with a magical first performance full of energy and excitement.

Today’s opening sparkled with gorgeous vocals, eye-opening acting, and breath-taking choreography.
Our Ensemble of 4th and 5th graders pulled off a truly memorable show, generating real excitement for the upcoming performances on Friday.

Inspired by the world of Dr. Seuss, this production uses whimsical storytelling and vibrant music to transform the stage into the jungles of Nool and the tiny village of Whoville that exists on a speck of dust.

Our resiliant performers have worked hard to find their own voices within these fantastical characters and have made this story their own with confidence, collaboration and heart.

We look forward to the remaining performances and we are incredibly proud of our students and staff for all their hard work that made this production possible.

Stay tuned as we continue this exciting journey on stage

Remembering 4·3 Through Learning and Reflection

Today’s Middle School assembly was dedicated to remembering the Jeju April 3 Incident, giving students the opportunity to engage with an important and deeply personal part of Jeju Island’s history.

As part of the presentation, a student-led dramatic reenactment based on real events was woven into the program, bringing the realities of 4·3 to life in a powerful and moving way.

This integration of performance and historical context helped students develop a deeper understanding of both the tragedy and its lasting impact on the island.

The assembly created space for reflection and empathy, reinforcing the importance of approaching this history with care, respect, and a commitment to remembering.

In the lead-up to April 3, our Middle School Korean as a Foreign Language students and teachers will also be sharing handmade camellia flower pins for the MS community to wear. The camellia, which blooms across Jeju at this time of year, has become a symbol of 4·3—its deep red color and the way it falls whole from the tree serve as a quiet reminder of lives lost.

Through this gesture, students are helping to bring our community together in remembrance and respect.

Spring Came Alive at the GEC Spring Festival 🌸

Spring in Jeju recently burst into life with the GEC Spring Festival, a celebration of music, creativity, and community.

The campus came alive with performances from 8 student bands from across GEC, including SJA Jeju Middle School, while 5 unique food booths prepared by SJA Jeju High School CCAs kept the crowd energized with a delicious variety of food and drinks.

More than just a celebration, this was a true SJA Jeju student led event.

From planning to ex*****on, our students brought their ideas to life, transforming a simple afternoon into a powerful reflection of the inquiry and action that define our school spirit.

We could not be prouder of our students for creating such a vibrant and successful spring festival.

Building Understanding Through Neurodiversity Week

This week, our Middle School dedicated advisory and assembly time to Neurodiversity Week, creating space for students to deepen their understanding of how people learn in different ways.

Through a shared community read, house activities, and an assembly speaker, students explored the experiences of individuals with dyslexia and gained insight into the realities of diverse learning needs.

Hands on activities also allowed students to experience and use tools designed to support different learners, building both awareness and empathy.

This meaningful week was thoughtfully led by our Neurodiversity Week student leaders, whose initiative and leadership made the experience impactful for the entire community.

We hope this week’s learning extends beyond the classroom and continues to shape a culture of empathy, understanding, and inclusion.

Celebrating Neurodiversity, Celebrating Every Student

From March 16 to 20, our Kindergarten and Elementary classrooms took part in Neurodiversity Celebration Week, engaging in meaningful lessons that helped our little Hilltoppers understand and appreciate the unique ways we all think, learn, and grow.

Through thoughtful activities and conversations, students explored an important message:
while we are all different, each of us is special just as we are.

It was a week filled with reflection, empathy, and a deeper sense of inclusion across our classrooms.

If you asked our students what they learned, they might say:
“My brain is unique!” 🧠
“I’m good at some things, and I’m still growing in others.” 💪
“It’s okay if my friend needs different tools than I do.” 🛠️
“Inclusion is something we do together!” 👫

We may be small, but our hearts and minds are growing in big ways.

Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week! 🎊

A Special Visit from Author & Illustrator Tad Hills ✨📚

We were delighted to welcome Tad Hills, beloved author and illustrator of children’s books, to SJA Jeju for a special visit with our Elementary School students.

Tad Hills shared stories from his own childhood, including drawings he created when he was young, reminding students that every great journey begins with imagination and persistence. Tad's warm and inspiring message encouraged our young learners to believe that they, too, can follow their passions and achieve their dreams.

We are truly grateful to Tad Hills for inspiring our students and making this a memorable experience.
