DIGITAL SAT FREE PILOT PARTICIPATION
Beginning 2023, SAT exams will be administered electronically only. Students desirous of writing this exam are asked to take advantage of a free pilot scheduled for January 28, 2023.
Participants will be selected and notified by the College Board. Please be guided by the correspondence below.
Dear Student,
Registration is now open for digital SAT® administrations at international test centers. We’d like to offer you the chance to take the new digital SAT this January for free as part of an upcoming pilot. If you participate, you’ll receive a score that can be reported to universities in mid-April 2023. If you’re planning to register for the SAT in the spring, this is a great opportunity to practice.
More about this pilot:
•
Date and time: On Saturday, January 28, you’ll arrive between 7:45 and 8 a.m. local time at a test center participating in the pilot. Log in to mySAT with your College Board account to register for this administration. You’ll receive an email a week before the administration date to let you know if you’ve been selected to participate.
•
Test timing: The test is expected to take between two and three hours, so you should plan to be on-site until about 11:30 a.m. If you’re approved for an extended time accommodation, you’ll have a longer test day.
•
Device requirements: You’ll bring your own device to the test center. The device must be a Windows laptop or tablet (running Windows 10 or later), a Mac laptop (running Mac OS 11.4 or later), or an iPad (running iOS 13.4 or later). You may use an approved device that was provided by your school (if it's not a shared device), including Chromebooks. Devices must be able to hold a charge for about three hours (you can bring a power cord or a portable charger on test day; however, we can’t guarantee access to power at the test center).
•
Scores: This pilot is an official SAT administration, and you’ll receive a score that can be reported to universities in mid-April 2023.
•
Pilot requirements: You must complete all pilot activities, which include downloading and setting up the testing application in advance, staying for the full duration of the digital SAT, and completing a post-pilot survey.
•
Accommodations: All College Board–approved digital accommodations will be supported for the pilot, including extended time, accommodated breaks, and assistive technology. You may waive your accommodations during the registration process if you don’t wish to use them for the pilot. Contact us if you have questions about other accommodations.
