On behalf of SSIS-CoPs, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our teachers who devoted their time and efforts to sharing insights and practices on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support professional growth. Their engaging presentations and practical knowledge provided a highly positive professional learning experience, which will, in turn, contribute to improved student learning outcomes.

The 7th Cambodian ELT Conference, organized by the Department of English at the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), was a remarkable success for our SSIS-CoP members. It provided us with meaningful opportunities to share our practices and expertise with fellow teachers from across Cambodia. This proud achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and professionalism of the IFL conference organizing team, as well as the generous sponsorship from Srokstoung International School. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of them for making this moment possible.

The emergence of AI (Artificial Intelligence) tools in the field of education has raised concerns about potential threats to academic integrity and academia's overreliance on these tools, which might diminish creativity. Debates have been going on whether these tools are an advancement or a threat. While acknowledging the downsides that the tools might bring to teachers, in his workshop, Mr. Phun Sokphan, a professional development manager and teacher trainer, will explore how English language teachers can harness AI to enhance their instructional practices, particularly in an under-resourced area, support teachers' self-regulated professional learning and keep possible risks at bay.

Last Saturday, we conducted a workshop entitled “Using Games as a Tool in Teaching Vocabulary to Young Learners”. The session provided meaningful and engaging discussion and insights into how games are utilised to teach vocabulary to young learners. We owe our gratitude to Mr. Seom Sokphal for his significant contributions and unwavering dedication to teachers’ personal and professional growth.

On Saturday, SSIS-CoP conducted a workshop entitled “Teaching Vocabulary to Young Learners.” The session offered hands-on, fun, and interactive techniques designed to help children build their vocabulary and use it effectively and flexibly.

This workshop would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of Ms. Sim Siny. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for her generosity in sharing her knowledge and techniques.

Our virtual workshop “Teaching Vocabulary to Young Learners” was very productive, providing us with insights into characteristics of young learners in learning vocabulary and other essential components of vocabulary for children to understand and learn and finally offering us best teaching vocabulary techniques. The workshop was also truly inspiring, highly engaging and very practical for our classroom use. The huge success of this workshop is attributed to Mr. Nat Panharith, a lecturer at the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), and we are indebted to his dedication and significant contribution to the workshop. Without his generous support, the workshop was impossible. We also would like to thank the Department of English, IFL for the assistance and support to make such a meaningful workshop possible. These assistance and encouragement have inspired us to go beyond our limits. Finally, we wish you all the best.
