What happens when teachers are given the opportunity to explore EdTech and AI?

The enthusiasm speaks for itself.

TDSO is piloting its first EdTech and AI for Teachers course, bringing together 73 teachers across three training centres in Siem Reap Province to explore how technology and AI can support their teaching practice.

Now halfway through the six-month programme, trainees are actively experimenting with digital tools, exploring AI, sharing ideas, and discovering new possibilities for their classrooms.

This first pilot is an important opportunity for TDSO to learn what works, refine the course, and build a practical approach that responds to the real needs of teachers.

The best investment in education isn't a building or a textbook. It's a well-prepared teacher.

Today, 119 student trainees graduated from the Siem Reap Provincial Teacher Training College (សាលាគរុកោសល្យ និងវិក្រឹតការខេត្តសៀមរាប/PTTC-Siem Reap), ready to begin the next chapter of their professional journey.

TDSO - Teacher Development Support Organization was proud to contribute to their preparation by delivering the English Teaching Methodology component of the pre-service programme. Through practical, classroom-based learning, student trainees developed the knowledge, skills, and confidence to create engaging, student-centred English lessons from the very beginning of their teaching careers.

This collaboration with PTTCSR reflects a shared commitment to strengthening teacher preparation and raising the quality of English language teaching in Cambodia. By connecting theory with classroom practice, we are helping future teachers enter the profession ready to make a meaningful difference from day one.

Congratulations to all 119 graduates. We wish you every success as you begin inspiring the next generation of learners.

The success of teacher development is not measured by the training delivered, but by the learning that takes place in every classroom.

Yesterday, TDSO - Teacher Development Support Organization welcomed the Director of the Department of Teacher Development (នាយកដ្ឋានកិច្ចការវិក្រឹតការ TDD), MoEYS Cambodia, together with Directors and Teacher Trainers from 10 Provincial Teacher Training Colleges, for an immersive learning visit to experience how teacher development is translated into classroom practice.

Throughout the day, the delegation experienced the complete journey of TDSO's teacher development model. They visited partner public schools to observe TDSO alumni delivering student-centred English lessons, met students actively engaged in learning, visited the TDSO Practice School to enjoy student showcases, and explored how professional training, mentoring, coaching, and classroom support work together to strengthen teaching practice.

At TDSO, teacher development is more than delivering training. It is about walking alongside teachers as they continue to develop their skills, build confidence, and create engaging learning experiences for every child.

We are proud to work in partnership with the Department of Teacher Development and Provincial Teacher Training Colleges to strengthen teacher education through collaboration, shared learning, and a common commitment to quality.

Every classroom tells the story of teacher development, and every lesson reflects the value of investing in teachers.

An approach can travel. But for it to work, local ownership must lead the way. 🇰🇭🤝🇱🇦

TDSO - Teacher Development Support Organization is pleased to have signed a Partnership Agreement with Lao Child and Youth Development Association - LaoCYDA, marking the beginning of a collaboration to support English teacher development in Lao PDR.

We are proud that TDSO’s work with public school teachers in Cambodia has inspired LaoCYDA in developing English Teacher Training in Laos.

But this is not about simply bringing a Cambodian programme to Laos. The programme belongs to LaoCYDA. They will lead it, shape it around the Lao context, and work closely with local education authorities, schools, teachers, and communities.

TDSO will be there to support the journey, sharing our experience, training approaches and resources, while providing technical support and capacity building along the way.

The signing of this Partnership Agreement is an exciting first step. We look forward to seeing LaoCYDA take this programme forward in its own way, for its own context.

Our approach may travel, but local ownership is what makes it last.

What does it take to prepare the next generation of teachers?

It takes more than training. It requires strong institutions, practical collaboration, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

On 10 July 2026, the management and technical teams from TDSO - Teacher Development Support Organization, Siem Reap Provincial Teacher Training Centre (សាលាគរុកោសល្យ និងវិក្រឹតការខេត្តសៀមរាប/PTTC-Siem Reap), and the Practice School​ (សាលាបឋមសិក្សា អនុវត្តន៍គរុកោសល្យ Aknouwat Koroukosal Primary School) met to reflect on our collaboration and identify priority areas where TDSO can continue contributing technical expertise to support PTTC's continued development as a Model Teacher Training Centre.

The discussion focused on strengthening teacher education through several key areas of collaboration:
- Continuing to deliver English teaching methodology training for new PTTC teacher trainees.
- Supporting the Practice School in strengthening English teaching to align with the MoEYS Cambodia's Model School requirements.
- Working with PTTC's technical team to strengthen quality assurance through the co-development of English language assessment tools, along with other technical resources for teacher trainees.
- Providing technical expertise and learning materials that complement PTTC's institutional development.
- Establishing a follow-up support mechanism for PTTC graduates as they begin their teaching careers, helping bridge pre-service preparation with classroom practice.

As Cambodia continues strengthening its teacher education system, TDSO remains committed to working alongside PTTC-SR to improve the quality of pre-service teacher education, support institutional development, and contribute to better learning outcomes for future generations.
