In recent weeks, many families in Cambodia have been forced to leave their homes and are now living in temporary shelters and evacuation sites across the country — including in Siem Reap and Koh Kong, where we have long been involved through our School Herbal Garden Programme.
After careful consideration, we have decided to adapt how proceeds from Blue Butterfly, which we have been returning back to the School Herbal Garden participants, are shared, in response to the current situation.
For this year 2025:
• 50% of proceeds are donated directly to schools within our School Herbal Garden Programme that are currently hosting displaced families on their premises. We appreciate NGO Kizuna, which helps us send our donation to the school in the most timely and efficient way.
This support will be used for essential food supplies such as rice and dried goods for families living on school grounds.
• The remaining 50% is donated to SVA Cambodia, an NGO that normally works in educational support and is now providing food and daily necessities to displaced children and families across Cambodia.
Through this partnership, support reaches not only our programme schools, but also children and families connected to education nationwide.
This decision does not replace our commitment to education.
Rather, we believe that supporting children’s learning also means responding when their safety and daily lives are under threat.
As a small, locally rooted social enterprise, we remain committed to listening, learning, and responding responsibly to the communities we work alongside.
