This is a remarkable achievement that demonstrates the immense talent, dedication, and hard work of the learners, teachers, and the entire school community.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) remains firmly committed to championing and safeguarding the welfare, rights, and interests of teachers across the country.

The government should honour the agreement reached during our State House engagement by ensuring that the remaining 16,000 teachers are promoted as agreed. Our teachers deserve recognition and career progression commensurate with their dedication and service to the nation.

Furthermore, the Government should take full responsibility for ensuring that all pupils and students representing Kenya at the forthcoming FEASSA Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, have their Yellow Fever vaccination certificates and Temporary Passports processed and secured in good time. Parents should not be unnecessarily burdened with costs and logistical responsibilities that should be handled by the Government.

I made these remarks at Bituyu Comprehensive School in Tongaren, where I represented the Secretary General, Bro. Collins Henry Oyuu, during a thanksgiving ceremony for Bro. Issa Ndukuyu, Branch Executive Secretary, KNUT Bungoma North Branch.

Today, I had the honour of representing the KNUT Secretary General, Bro. Collins Oyuu, at a stakeholders’ meeting to plan and prepare for the upcoming World Teachers’ Day celebrations.

The meeting provided an important platform for stakeholders to deliberate on key preparations aimed at ensuring a successful and meaningful celebration of teachers and their invaluable contribution to society.

KNUT remains committed to championing the welfare, dignity, and professional growth of teachers.

Today, we laid my beloved mother-in-law, Mayi Rose Nang'unda Wanyama, to rest.

On behalf of my family, I sincerely thank each and every one of you who took your time to stand with us during this difficult period. Your prayers, messages of comfort, presence, and generous support gave us strength and encouragement as we mourned our beloved mother.

My special appreciation goes to my Secretary General, Bro. Collins Henry Oyuu, and the entire KNUT leadership and fraternity for finding time to be with us and for your unwavering support throughout this journey.

May the Almighty God richly bless you all for your kindness, love, and compassion. We shall forever remain grateful.

It is with deep sorrow that my family mourns the passing of my beloved mother-in-law, Mayi Rose Nang'unda Wanyama, the cherished mother of my dear wife, Mourine Murumba.

The late Mayi Rose was a strong pillar in our family. Her love, wisdom, and unwavering support touched many lives, and her passing has left us with a profound sense of loss.

During this difficult time, we humbly request your prayers and support as we mourn and celebrate her life.

May Almighty God grant her eternal rest, comfort our family, and give us the strength to bear this great loss.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

KNUT WON'T RELENT IN FIGHTING FOR TEACHERS' WELFARE.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the welfare of teachers across the country.

Today, the 2nd Vice National Chairman, Bro. Aggrey Murumba Namisi, represented the Secretary General Bro. Collins Oyuu at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nakuru KNUT Education Fund held in Nakuru.

While addressing the gathering, Bro. Namisi commended teachers for establishing a strong and impactful education fund scheme, urging other KNUT branches to emulate the initiative for the benefit of their members.

He further assured teachers that the union leadership is actively working to streamline and improve their medical cover. He revealed that a high-level meeting is scheduled for Tuesday to deliberate on the way forward, after which the National Executive Council (NEC) will convene for a retreat to make a final determination on the SHA issue, noting that NEC remains the supreme decision-making organ of the union.

In a firm stance, Bro. Namisi issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Ministry of Health to address the challenges facing teachers in accessing medical services. He warned that failure to act within the stipulated period will trigger nationwide demonstrations by teachers.
